Prison bans chapel crucifix to avoid offending Muslims

A prison’s new chapel will not contain a crucifix to avoid offending Muslim inmates, it emerged today.

Bosses at HMP Lewes have been told the traditional Christian symbol, featuring Jesus nailed to a cross, must not be used in the Grade-II listed Victorian jail’s ‘multi-faith space’.

The room - part of a £1million new block - has been split in two, with one half featuring heated foot baths so Muslim worshippers can wash their feet before prayer.

British Police : "British Flag Offends Muslims."

Police in Merseyside at the Wavertree Road Police station have requested that all British National Party activists refrain from displaying British Flags as it is likely to cause “offence” to the ethnic groups living in the area. The police have advised the BNP activists that the display of the St. George cross and Welsh flags (cross of St. David & Welsh Dragon), in particular would give offence!

All twelve BNP activists are at the time of writing (22:05) still in detention, and police refuse to say when they will be released. The men are being interviewed under caution under section 19 of the Public Order Act.

Obama at $30,000 a plate Hollywood Dinner; Red Cross Says It's Going Broke

Posted on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 5:49:23 PM by pabianice
Tonight, Barack Obama will be the featured star at a $30,000 a plate dinner in Hollywood, hosted by Barbra Streisand. This as Obama is assaulting John McCain for "being out of touch with real Americans."

Meanwhile, the Red Cross is pleading for money after announcing that it is broke from the financial demands of helping people who have been victims of the series of storms that have hit the U.S.

This is a chance for Obama to do the right thing. Senator Obama, donate half of what your campaign raises tonight at Bab's place to the Red Cross. It is the right thing to do. It would help thousands of Americans who have had their lives devastated by recent natural disasters. You claim that McCain is "out of touch" while you "feel for the Americans who are in bad financial shape."

Prove it.
