Military judge dismisses charges in Haditha killings

CAMP PENDLETON – A military judge dismissed charges Tuesday against a Marine officer accused of failing to investigate the killings of 24 Iraqis.
Col. Steven Folsom dismissed charges against Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani after finding that a four-star general overseeing the case was improperly influenced by an investigator probing the November 2005 shootings by a Marine squad in Haditha.

The charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning they can be refiled, but Folsom barred Marine Forces Central Command from future involvement in the case.

anonymous is a coward who should be pushed to the front in an unarmored hummer with nothing but 10-year-old body armor for protection. how can war be waged and won with no civilian casualties? in wars past 100,000 were killed in a single night of bombing. we should reduce iraq to a smoking hole and take its oil by force. survival is at stake. pick a side.

this isn't justice, we saw the videos and some soldiers were truly guilty. What a shame.

  4. He's free after a fair trial which the American Government spent MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to prosecute him. His defense fund came from him, and the American people that donated thousands in his defence. He was tried and found not guilty. You don't have to like the outcome of the trial, but you WILL HAVE TOO LIVE WITH IT. Simpy because there is not a damn thing you, anonymous, can do about it. :)
