IRAQI PARLIAMENT: IRAQ VERGES COLLAPSE MIDST HANGINGS

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

"’Twenty-seven terrorists were hanged today in Baghdad. Most of them were Iraqis,’ Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Karim Khalaf told Agence France-Presse. He said they were convicted for attacks on Iraqi civilians.

"Iraq's leaders have just months to mend their differences or see their country collapse, Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani of parliament told wrangling deputies yesterday after a car bomb caused dozens of casualties during the morning rush hour.

"’Let's start talking the same language,’ he said. ‘We have three to four months to reconcile with each other. If the country doesn't survive this, it will go under,’ said Mr. al-Mashhadani, a Sunni Arab," per The Washington Times.

Operation Iraqi Freedom haf envisioned Iraqis as one major societal block seeking freedom from a despot. However, what emerged are three arch-conflicting groups: Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds. It appears that their animosities will continue for decades if not centuries.

It then is not America’s liberal propaganda mired press speaking about Iraq’s collapse. It is the Iraqi Parliamentarian Speaker calling for unity or the nation "’will go under.’" He gives Parliament three to four months to come together or else Iraq will be in shambles.

These are significant words coming for a significant Iraqi leader. They must be taken seriously by free nations. Therefore, as multinational forces continue to referee Muslim street murder fests, it is time to send those troops back to their free nations of origin. The murdering will not stop for bloody conflicts between the three major components of Iraqi society will not stop.

The reasonable choice now for free national leaders is to speak facts about the present Iraqi situation. Then they should inform their publics about forces returning home. It is merely a matter of time until Iraq goes under. Therefore, it is not civil to keep free nations’ troops there for an eventual collapse. It is either sooner or later for the collapse. Sooner should be the agenda for return of troops.

Later means that more courageous troops needlessly die.
"Eight persons were killed and at least 38 wounded when a car bomb blasted a busy road in the mainly Shi'ite Qahira district of northern Baghdad during the morning rush hour, said police, who also fear a surge in violence later this week when hundreds of thousands of Shi'ites mark a religious festival.

"Another 34 bodies were counted in various parts of the capital over the past two days, police told Reuters news agency, some of them bound and blindfolded, typical victims of sectarian kidnappings and killings. In another development, Iraqi authorities executed 27 convicted ‘terrorists’ yesterday.
