These verses from the Bible are now considered hate speech in Colorado per recent law passed.
ANTI-HOMOSEXUAL PASSAGES IN THE BIBLE
Leviticus 18:22: "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."
Leviticus 20:13: "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them."
Romans 1:18-32: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. . .For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools. . .
"Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. . .
"For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire towards one another, men with men committed indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
"God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice. . .without understanding. . . and, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them."
I Corinthians 6:9: "Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter signed into law SB 200. Section 8 of that erases the First Amendment. Read this:
Section 8. 24-34-701. Publishing of discriminative matter forbidden. No person, being the owner, lessee, proprietor, manager, superintendent, agent, or employee of any place of public accommodation ... shall publish, issue, circulate, send, distribute, give away, or display in any way, manner, or shape or by any means or method, except as provided in this section, any communication, paper, poster, folder, manuscript, book, pamphlet, writing, print, letter, notice, or advertisement of any kind, nature, or description that is intended or calculated to discriminate or actually discriminates against ... SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status ... in the matter of furnishing or neglecting or refusing to furnish to them or any one of them any lodging, housing, schooling, or tuition or any accommodation, right [marriage], privilege [adoption], advantage, or convenience ... on account of ... SEXUAL ORIENTATION, marital status ... [which] is unwelcome or objectionable or not acceptable, desired, or solicited.
Freedom of speech is going and gone in the Republic. What will Christians do about this? They had better march on Washington and state power clicks in order to stop America from becoming a Communist outfit. We had thought our democracy would last forever. Not so if the liberals get their way from shore to shore.
This book, "The Criminalization of Christianity," for instance is banned in Colorado for it speaks to this issue. Janet Forger is its author. She’s going to fly into Denver to distribute her book, waiting to be arrested—up to a year in jail cell. She’s baiting the anti-freedom dictators. What will be the outcome?

Grant Swank,
ReplyDeleteThis isn't just bad for Christians, its bad for anyone who values liberty. Ignore for a moment weather or not those passages are hateful or bigoted. Any speech can be deemed hate speech that is critical of someone or something. This is one of the reasons way hate speech laws are never a good idea. Liberals in America and Europe today may trust the government, but how will they feel when that same government starts to regard some of the things they believe as hate speech?
Its also possible that they may try to use laws like this to shut up the Anti Jihad movement. To make matters worse, we can't count on the supreme court, many of them would love to have European style hate speech laws here, and many of them ignore the constitution when it contradicts their desires. When need more justices like Scalia, who value the constitution and respect it.
We must remember that all dictators start out by silencing their critics. As far as our right to free speech is concerned, it doesn't matter how hateful and bigot these statements are or are not. The government has no right to punish peaceful disagreement.
this law should be called GAYfirmative action...
ReplyDeleteI'm all for Gays being able to do whatever they want, please get married it's a joke anyways amongst hetero couples, I dont care..
But this law destroys constitutional rights.
free speech? freedom of religion?
