Other than China, Iran makes the most of the death penalty by hanging and stoning.
To bolster Iranian reputation for barbarism, now two sisters are to be stoned to death for allegedly committing adultery.
They say they did not have sex with men. They report that even the husband’s secret video taping of their being with other men does not depict having sex.
One sister stated that her husband had been unfit to live with because of his rude behavior. Therefore, their marriage was not endurable.
“Zohreh (one accused sister who is identified only by her first name) said she had an edgy relationship with her husband because of the strict limits he imposed on her life.
"’I was a teacher and loved my job but my husband did not let me work... he was always suspicious of me and thought our differences were because I had an affair,’ she said.”
Stoning means putting a female in a pit with dirt piled up to the neck. Then neighbors, including children, stone the head till it is pulp. The Koran stipulates the size of the stones—not too large to bring a quick death, not too small so as perhaps not to kill entirely.
