J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Extremist Islam is a way of life in much of Afghanistan, not just an anomaly come upon infrequently.

Therefore, beheading is considered a just punishment in the main if Islam is at all questioned, particularly in public.

A young adult journalist, 23 years old, handed out a report he obtained by way of the Internet. The material was provided to students he was teaching in a university class in northern Afghanistan.

Per AP, the news got out that the handout questioned why Islamic males could have multiple wives while Islamic females could have only one spouse.

For that handout he could lose his head if lawmakers get their way. These authorities consider the journalist-teacher as having “insulted Islam.”

Judges concluded he deserved the penalty.
