Did anyone in the US govt have prior knowledge of the 9/11 attack? Well, yes and no. The local FBI office in Arizona (?), wrote a memo that Muslims were attending US flying schools and their participation was questionable at best as to the reasons for taking lessons ( "I do not need to know how to take-off or land, but just fly a large passenger jet"). The FBI ignored the memo. When the so-called 20 terrorist was arrested prior to the attack, there was an administrative politically correct decision not to open his computer and read its contents. Another failure of the FBI and its still current director. SO could we have known? Most assureably, yes. It was a failure of the FBI who had ample evidence of using planes as weapons ( Yussef Ramzi's computer seized in the Phillipines prior to 1991) and local FBI advising an investigation.
