Israel backs U.S. arms sale to Saudis

It's official, our leaders are fools.

JERUSALEM - In a break from historic Israeli opposition to U.S. arms sales to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday his country understands Washington‘s plan to supply state-of-the-art weapons to Riyadh as a counterweight to Iranian influence.

"We understand the need of the United States to support the Arab
moderate states ( ?? ) and there is a need for a united front between the U.S. and us regarding Iran," Olmert told a weekly Cabinet meeting.

The proposed arms deal would include advanced weaponry and air systems that would greatly enhance the striking ability of Saudi warplanes, alarming the Israeli right. One leading hard-liner warned that Saudi Arabia, although not belligerent now, could be taken over by extremists.

Like Hillary would scold the Saudis. I'm sure she will declare them to be an enemy while wearing a hijab. Yeah right, with all the money the kingdom has payed Bubba, sure.

If the super extreme wackos overthrow the monarchy there could be real big trouble much sooner.

But would Iran ever attack SA? And would the Saudis ever launch an attack against Iran? If only an impenetrable bubble could be put over Israel...

    absurd thought -
    God of the Universe says
    sell weapons to enemies

    or to friends of enemies
who might sell some to them
