Duo in dock over 'honour killing'

A JEALOUS husband lured the boss of an Acocks Green pizza business to a house where he was stabbed to death in an "honour killing", a jury at Birmingham Crown Court was told.

Mashooq Khan, who was having a relationship with defendant Mohammed Bashir's young wife, was tricked by a bogus call into delivering a pizza in Sparkhill, where he was ambushed.

Bashir, 20, of Woodlands Road, Sparkhill, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be identified, have denied murdering Mr Khan.

James Burbidge QC, prosecuting, said the victim was a married man from Afghanistan who had set up a pizza take-away business, RMP Pizzas, in Acocks Green.

Bashir, he said, had married Shabana Bi in Pakistan in a form of arranged marriage.
