WILL REP ANTI-WAR ZEALOTS ENDORSE DEM ANTI-WAR CANDIDATES?

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Will those Republicans who see Iraq "over and out" wed with such as Connecticut Democrat candidate Ned Lamont?
Could be.

Those who are ardent Republicans are now in a quandary. Do they continue to support the Bush administration’s allegiance to Operation Iraqi Freedom, even to sending more troops into a ravaged Iraq?
Or do they leave the Republican umbrella to support the likes of Democrat Lamont, the anti-war voice who makes no apologies for his refrain that Iraq is a lost cause?

I am for multinational forces to return home, not sending more within days. They are only going to be slaughtered by the growing hatred against the United States presence there.

I feel sorry for our troops in Iraq now because they are being surrounded more and more by the Islamic bullies out to slay.

The Islamic clerics are upping the ante against liberty warriors. It is insane for law-abiding persons in and out of uniform to stay in Iraq. The nation is lost to the Koran, Allah and the Sharia "legal system" of murder and maim. Why any US President would further the loss of American blood within those borders is beyond me.

Now we have got to own up to the reality that Iraq sanity is gone. It has drained out.
It’s not unpatriotic and liberal to make such an assertion. It’s fact. We are no longer being fed "a line" by the typical liberal American press. We are being shown the in-your-face truth of what is going on in Iraq.

We have lost for freedom’s sake.

Not because we were lacking in motivation. It is that we Americans totally misunderstood the demons clawing the air there.

The genie bottle has broken open wide with the devils spawning to right and left. They are flying everywhere throughout Iraq. There will be no democracy-based Parliament. There will be no legal system such as civil nations have. There will be no civility anywhere.

The typical Muslim insanity called "society" is now in control in the streets and that is where finally it counts.

It’s in the streets in the Middle East.

It’s in the streets in Iran.

It’s in the streets in Iraq.

It’s in the streets in Egypt.

Even the Muslim leaders are startled on occasion when threatened with their own bloodthirsty kind. Take for example the Brotherhood in Egypt. The leaders there quake when the Brotherhood stalks the streets for blood flowing in the boulevards.

So what do Republican do now that many have concluded the cause has been lost in Iraq? Do they wed with the crazy likes of Cindy Sheehan? Do they vote for Democrat Lamont in Connecticut? Do they shed their Republican elephant posters? What do they do?

(1) I used to call myself a Republican, now I call myself a "Reagan Conservative". The Republican party I knew, is gone. Over the last several months I have been wrestling with this issue of "What do I do now?"

I fully backed the Iraqi invasion, glad that Saddam will soon be dealt justice but I have come to the painful conclusion I was wrong.

Americans like me don't like to be wrong, but it would be a grievous mistake for our sons and daughters to be stuck in the middle of a religious war between Muslims that's not going to get any better. It may be "Un-Christian" of me for this upcoming statement , but if the Muslims want to slaughter each other, that's not our business. Bring our guys home, and somehow clean up the mess later somehow. I have no permanant solution, but what we are doing now is not working.

(2) "So what do Republican do now that many have concluded the cause has been lost in Iraq? Do they wed with the crazy likes of Cindy Sheehan? Do they vote for Democrat Lamont in Connecticut? Do they shed their Republican elephant posters? What do they do?"

(a)Cindy Sheehan doesn't have the sense to come in out of the rain. I'd never back her up, she is a socialist that hates America.

(b)"Do they vote for Democrat Lamont in Connecticut?" I don't really have faith in the Republican party anymore, and alot less in the Democratic party.

(c)"Do they shed their Republican elephant posters?" Mine has been in the closet for a few years now, I still keep it mainly for a reminder of "the good old days."

(d) "What do they do?" I haven't a clue. People with my mindset are basically a "People without a Party." It saddens me that 3000 people had to die before I took enough interest in politics to even vote. Now it's worse because the Party I was voting for , let me down. I'll always be a "Reagan Conservative".

Maybe one day, the Republican leadership will come back home. Until then, I'll watch from the sidelines and hope for the best, and just expect the worse.
