MUSLIM WOMEN: CHRIST OFFERS, NOT HANGING, BUT LOVE

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Atefeh Rajabi, 16, was accused by the local judge of having sex with her boy friend. As with the woman caught in adultery brought to Jesus, where was the boy friend? Jesus told the woman: "Go and sin no more."

Rajabi stood before the so-called judge, an Iranian. What many from the neighborhood believe is that this pretty teen-ager refused the sexual advances of the judge himself. That very well could be the truth.

His rage was off the charts when her commissioned that she be hanged.
In fact, to show his fury, he took her by the hair, dragging her through the streets to the gallows. At the center of town, he hung the noose about her neck, tying it tightly. Then he declared she would hang there for 45 minutes as warning to others not to commit such a crime.
