Iraq : Grassroots Must Unite but CAN'T


It would be like hoisting the US civil rights movement from blacks in cotton fields to executive suites.

Sadly, it won't happen. Why? Because the Iraqi Muslim grassroots is made up of-not diplomats, elected officials, serious thinkers, idealists given to civility-but Islamic boys and girls who were taught hate and killing since birth. Also, Iraq is riddled with Allah-worshiping teen-agers who wake up in the morning, not to play baseball or hike a mountain, but to throw another bomb.

When it comes to Muslim young adult men, there are thousands upon thousands who are still little boys throwing stones. They have been throwing stones for years, since they could walk. They are throwing bombs in their twenties. They are firing rifles in their thirties.

After all, their Islamic macho fathers handed them pistols and rifles instead of math and science texts.How can that change in a few years? It can't. It won't.
