An Israeli police force killed two Islamic Jihad militants, including one of the group's senior West Bank commander, in an exchange of fire near the town of Jenin on Tuesday.
One police officer sustained serious wounds to the head during the gun battle and was evacuated by helicopter to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa. The gun battle erupted after the special police force encircled a house in village of Arrabe where the militants were hiding.
