Public school students at Friendswood Junior High in the Houston area have been roped into Islamic training by representatives from the Council on American-Islamic Relations during class time, prompting religious leaders to protest over Principal Robin Lowe's actions.
Pastor Dave Welch, spokesman for the Houston Area Pastor Council, confirmed the indoctrination had taken place and called it "unacceptable."
"The failure of the principal of Friendswood Junior High to respect simple procedures requiring parental notification for such a potentially controversial subject, to not only approve but participate personally in a religious indoctrination session led by representatives of a group with well-known links to terrorist organizations and her cavalier response when confronted, raises serious questions about her fitness to serve in that role," the pastors' organization said.
According to a parent, whose name was withheld, the children were given the Islamic indoctrination during time that was supposed to be used for a physical education class.
"I am simply trying to get the word out to those whose kids may not have told them about an Islamic presentation that all kids were required to attend," wrote the parent, who was working to assemble protests to the school board.
The pastors said in a statement: "According to students who were forced to attend these sessions, these Islamic evangelists taught them:

Iran: Police Arrest 12 Christian Converts
(Compass Direct News) – Police in the southern Iran city of Shiraz this month cracked down against known Muslim converts to Christianity, arresting members of three Christian families and confiscating their books and computers.The arrests began at 5 a.m. on May 11, when two couples were taken into custody before boarding their flights at the Shiraz International Airport and sent directly to jail. A Muslim leader has told county councillors he condemned a city centre explosion suspected to have been carried out by a convert to Islam.

Australia : Camden Council votes down Islamic school
A PLAN to build an Islamic school on Sydney's southwestern outskirts was last night rejected by Camden Council, which insisted the decision had been made purely on planning grounds.
However, some of the 200 residents who attended the meeting at Camden Civic Centre took the decision as a victory against Islamic radicalism.
All nine councillors voted unanimously to reject the application by the Qu'ranic Society for a school for 1200 students.
They argued that they had done so because a planning report to the council said it was an inappropriate development for the semi-rural area and would create traffic, parking and other problems.
This was despite the council receiving an unprecedented response to the development application - 3042 submissions were against and 23 in favour.
And after the meeting, some residents made it clear they did not want Muslims in the area.

A small explosive device has been detonated at the entrance of a restaurant in Exeter city centre.
One man has been taken into custody.
He has been identified by police as 22-year-old Nicky Reilly from Plymouth. Deputy chief constable Tony Melville from Devon and Cornwall Police said Mr Reilly has a history of mental illness and is a recent convert to Islam.

Once upon a time, a dhimmi on his way home heard a feeble voice calling "Help! Help!" He looked round, took a careful step or two then realised that the sound was coming from a large tree. He asked in amazement: "Who's that calling?" And a voice replied,

As President George W. Bush wraps up his trip to the Middle East, controversial Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders, a passionate supporter of Bush and the U.S. war on terrorism, called on him to drop his "double agenda" in the region by ending support to Islamic states like Saudi Arabia.
Wilders, who briefly achieved global notoriety when he released his anti-Koran film "Fitna" in March, told United Press International that the United States should not overlook Saudi Arabia's flagrant bad governance and human-rights abuses.
"American relations with Saudi Arabia should be revised," he said, adding that Saudi Arabia's status as a major oil producer should not mean that its track record ought to be overlooked. "Saudi Arabia is no good and won't be for the foreseeable future," he said.

Recently, I wrote about Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA), a K-8 charter school in Inver Grove Heights. Charter schools are public schools and by law must not endorse or promote religion.
Evidence suggests, however, that TIZA is an Islamic school, funded by Minnesota taxpayers.
TIZA has many characteristics that suggest a religious school. It shares the headquarters building of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, whose mission is "establishing Islam in Minnesota."

U.S. soldier in Iraq uses Koran for target practice
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. military commanders have apologized to community leaders in Iraq after a U.S. soldier used a copy of the Koran for shooting practice, fearing an outburst of anger among U.S.-allied tribesmen.
Bloody protests have sometimes broken out across the Muslim world when the Islamic faith has been insulted. The swift apology by the U.S. commanders appeared aimed at avoiding similar violence in Iraq.

What bothers me is the continual reference to Hitler and his National Socialists, particularly the British and French accommodation at the Munich Conference of 1938.
What Hitler was demanding was not unreasonable. He wanted the German-speaking areas of Europe under German authority. He had just annexed Austria, which was German-speaking, without bloodshed. There were two more small pieces of Germanic territory: the free city of Danzig and the Sudetenland, a border area of what is now the Czech Republic.

“Muslims view apostasy from Islam as bringing shame and humiliation on the Muslim community,” Sookhdeo, a former Muslim, explained. “Publicizing that there are large numbers of converts deepens the shame and loss of face.”
In response, “many” Muslims believe the shame is best removed by the shedding of blood of not only the convert, but those who seek to convert Muslims, he said. Some may even go further to get revenge and restore honor to Islam by attacking anyone associated with the “Christian” West.

Bombs kill 60 and wound 150 in western India
JAIPUR, India (AP) — Bombs ripped through crowded parts of this ancient city in western India on Tuesday, killing 60 people and wounding 150, police said. The seven explosions in Jaipur took place in markets and several other areas of the city in Rajasthan, a region dotted with palaces and temples that draws hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, said A.S. Gill, the state's police chief.
"Obviously, it's a terrorist plot," he told reporters. "The way it has been done, the attempt was to cause the maximum damage to human life."
He said bicycles may have been used in the bombings. But he did not say if the explosives were detonated by suicide bombers riding through the crowds or if the bombs had been planted on parked bicycles.

The remarks by former Jordanian Minister of Religious Endowment Ali Al-Faqir were broadcast on Al-Aqsa TV on May 2.
According to a transcript prepared by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Al-Faqir said Palestine from the Jordan to the Mediterranean is an Islamic land. “Spain – Andalusia – is also the land of Islam,” he said.

Courts in Jeddah should dismiss cases against a Saudi web critic and a Turkish barber charged with “insulting” Islam, an unequivocal violation of freedom of expression protected under international law, Human Rights Watch said today.
The Saudi man used his website to criticize the religious police while the Turkish barber is accused of cursing the name of God.

I don't know where to begin. You of all people realize the threat, but we still call this a "War on terror". You have inspired me over the years too speak out, but yet, I have too be honest. This is not a war on "terror". It is a war on some Muslims. In my honest opinion it is a war on the islamic ideology. In my honest opinion, there is no "radical islam", it's just islam. I find it difficult to support people like Daniel Pipes, etc. that still will not name the enemy. I am a nobody, a nothing. I do realize one thing , the American people on a daily basis are coming too grips with reality. They (like me) refuse to be politically correct. At what point in time do we as "infidels" have the backbone and spine to speak out that islam is at war with us, we are not at war with islam yet ? If we as Americans do not speak truth, this Country in all reality will become Lebanon. That is something, I can not, and will not accept.

Storming of Illinois 'Mosque' Sends Wrong Message, Islamic Group Says
As part of a recent emergency preparedness drill in south-central Illinois, law enforcement personnel stormed a "mosque" where radical gunman were holding hostages.
The "gunmen" and hostages were playing a part, and the building wasn't really a mosque. And that bothers an Islamic advocacy group.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) opposes the stereotyping of Muslims as radicals.

Al-Qaeda Iraq leader captured
The leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, has been arrested, according to media reports quoting the country's defence ministry. Masri, also known as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, was detained in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, the reports said.
The US military in Iraq said it was currently looking into the reports.
The Egyptian-born militant took over the leadership of the group from Abu Musab al-Zarqawi shortly after he was killed in a US air strike in June 2006.

"Avoid labeling everything 'Muslim.' It reinforces the 'U.S. vs. Islam' framework that al Qaeda promotes," according to "Words that Work and Words that Don't: A Guide for Counter-Terrorism Communication," produced last month by the center.

In a stunning illustration of how apologists for militant Islam flat-out distort the truth, Robert Satloff writes in the Weekly Standard how John Esposito and Dalia Mogahed “cooked the books” to make their own data appear to show there were only a small percentage of “radical” Muslims worldwide.
Esposito and Mogahed make the claim that only 7% of Muslims worldwide are “radical.” That amounts to about 91 million Muslims. No small number.
But a closer examination of their data reveal that the number of those who are “radical” is actually at least twice that many, and more likely three to four times that many – or between 300 million and 480 million Muslims worldwide!

Outlawing the Pig
The practice of political correctness may soon be tallying another casualty: the pig. Increasingly, as America and the rest of the Western world continue accommodating Muslim religious demands, pork food products are being singled out for removal from dining tables and pig-related trinkets banished from the desks of office workers.
If this continues, good ol' American food, such as barbeque replete with hot dogs and ribs and the typical American breakfast of eggs, bacon and sausage, might be seen as the equivalent of political poison. Could outright censorship of pig depictions in drawings, pig references in literary works and pig portrayals in movies be far behind? Could the well-known, cartoon figure Porky Pig become a cultural embarrassment of our unenlightened past as we fear to utter the "P" word?
Though the notion may seem more appropriate for a comedy routine, an increasing number of pig-related incidents, accommodations and Muslim demands in recent years points to an uncertain future for our porcine friend and its place in our economy, culture and our culinary traditions.

Strategic Collapse in the War on "Terror"

Recent government policy memoranda, circulating through the national counter-terrorism and diplomatic community, establishes a new "speech code" for the lexicon in the war on terror, as reported by the Associated Press and now available in the public domain.
These new "speech codes" recommended that analysts and policy makers avoid the terms jihad or jihadist or mujhadid or "al-Qaida movement" and replace them with "extremists" and by extension other non-specific terms.
The use of these "new words" and rejection of the "old words" is ostensibly designed to avoid legitimating al-Qaida and its followers while mollifying the sensitivities of the larger Muslim community.
This culmination of previous trends does not surprise me at all.
This is more than simply dancing on the pinhead of cultural sensitivity-words have meaning, ideas have consequences.
This policy is a strategic collapse.

MANILA, Philippines -- The Filipina nurse caught kissing in public in Saudi Arabia last week is not alone.
An estimated two of 10 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Saudi Arabia who seek Philippine government assistance are jailed for similar "crimes of immorality," INQUIRER.net learned Monday.
Labor Secretary Marianito Roque, for his part, said "there are a lot of crimes of immorality" involving Filipinos, most of them simply for "holding hands and eating out together."
Saudi laws prohibit a woman from going out in public with men other than her relatives.

Web video fans, we have some news to share, and you may not take it so kindly. YouTube is down. Yes, the copyright-infringing clips and the homages and assaults on the now infamous Miley Cyrus housed within Google’s all-powerful meme machine are evidently inaccessible.
You may panic.
First highlighted by Allen Stern at CenterNetworks, the outage seems to have stretched the globe, with reports from people spanning the US, the UK, Estonia, and places elsewhere. A few simple requests by yours truly for YouTube clips via Google Search this morning return links to unresponsive pages. (The Australian site is down too, by the way.)
Not good, not good. Maintenance gone wrong, is it? Who’s to say? Google’s not talking, neither on the company blog or, more specifically, on the official Youtube Blog. (Which is also down.) And heck, why would they? Only if this crash doesn’t get cleaned up in reasonably short order (what’s the metric for that, anyway?) will Sergey and Larry and Chad and Steve come out with a were-so-sorry and some sort of technological excuse. All we know is that YouTube devotees are likely none too happy with the cold-turkey cutoff.

Saudi Arabian Court Ratifies Beheading Of Turkish Barber
HATAY - A Saudi Arabian court on Thursday ratified the conviction of Turkish barber Sabri Bogday, who was sentenced to beheading in Saudi Arabia on charges of "cursing the name of God."
Bogday has been in jail for 13 months in Saudi Arabia after a quarrel with a neighbor near his barber shop. Bogday was accused of cursing the name of God.
Bogday`s wife, Muazzez, told the A.A that family members were in Saudi Arabia for the appeal hearing of the case. She said they would once again appeal against the verdict.
"We are devastated after the court verdict today," she said. "We lost all our hopes. We do not know what to do next."
