CAIR’S Stunning, Shameless Hypocrisy

This is a very long post, please read it and pass it on.

The Media Advisory reprinted below is a stunning example of the hypocritical and selective “outrage” that emanates from Muslim organizations like CAIR (The Council on American-Islamic Relations).

CAIR has been part of a nationwide campaign protesting comments made by syndicated talk show host Michael Savage on October 29th. Why are they protesting? They allege that Michael Savage’s remarks were “hateful” of and “bigoted” toward Muslims.

Question: Where is CAIR when mosques in America distribute literature that calls Christians and Jews “apes” and “pigs”? Where is CAIR when Islamic clerics in America call for the overthrow of America’s constitutional government? Where is CAIR when madrassas (Islamic schools) in America teach children to hate Christians and Jews because “they are cursed by Allah”?

Where? CAIR’s silence is deafening and instructive.

There’s one aspect of the Media Advisory below we agree with: Hate Hurts America.

But until CAIR and its allies direct their outrage toward the real purveyors of hate in their own religion,
they deserve only our scorn.

New Interfaith Coalition Will Urge Advertisers to Drop ‘Savage’ Spots

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/26/2007) - On Tuesday, November 27, the newly-formed Hate Hurts America Community and Interfaith Coalition, a group of religious and civic organizations seeking to challenge hate speech on talk radio, will hold a news conference in San Francisco, Calif., to call on advertisers nationwide to stop airing commercials on Michael Savage’s syndicated “Savage Nation” program.
Coalition representatives will also call on other faith-based and community groups to join the national campaign against hate rhetoric on talk radio targeting minorities.

Savage, whose program airs on more than 300 radio stations nationwide, screamed attacks on Muslims, Islam and the Quran during his October 29, 2007, program.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has called on radio listeners of all faiths to contact companies that advertise on Savage's program to express their concerns about the host's anti-Muslim bigotry.

    As I listen to Savage read segments of his complaint against the CAIR circus, I wonder why he or his attorney have not identified CAIR as un-indicted co-conspirators.
