Israel backs U.S. arms sale to Saudis
It's official, our leaders are fools.
JERUSALEM - In a break from historic Israeli opposition to U.S. arms sales to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday his country understands Washington‘s plan to supply state-of-the-art weapons to Riyadh as a counterweight to Iranian influence.
"We understand the need of the United States to support the Arab moderate states ( ?? ) and there is a need for a united front between the U.S. and us regarding Iran," Olmert told a weekly Cabinet meeting.
The proposed arms deal would include advanced weaponry and air systems that would greatly enhance the striking ability of Saudi warplanes, alarming the Israeli right. One leading hard-liner warned that Saudi Arabia, although not belligerent now, could be taken over by extremists.

600 suicide bombers at large near Islamabad
Islamabad: The Pakistan Government has sounded a red alert in the wake of reports about the presence of 600 suicide bombers within the limits of the national capital and asked security personnel to avoid gathering in groups and not to wear uniform in public.
Around 600 suicide bombers are hiding in madrassas and mosques within and around the limits of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the Daily Times quoted officials as saying.
Most of these bombers are believed to be those who went missing after the crackdown on the Lal Masjid and the boys and girls madrasas attached to it.
“Around 600 students of the Jamia Hafsa and the Jamia Fareedia have not returned to their homes after the Lal Masjid operation. These are the people called ‘missing students’ and they are hiding in madrassas and mosques in and around the two cities. These are walking bombs and are determined to blow themselves up any time, anywhere,” investigators said.
The presence of the bombers was revealed by the sacked chief cleric of the Lal Masjid, Abdul Aziz, who is in custody. “During interrogation, Aziz said 500-600 students of the two madrassas had been trained, equipped and brainwashed to carry out suicide attacks.
These students left the madrassa according to a plan before the final operation against the mosque was launched,” the official said.

Jews and Christians in Iraq Prime Target For Rape / Murder / Kidnapping.
Iraq's outnumbered Christians and other religious minority groups are targets of a terror campaign and are facing a dire situation where killings and rapes have become the norm, a panel of witnesses testified yesterday on Capitol Hill.
In a hearing convened by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, Canon Andrew White, vicar of St. George's Anglican Church in Baghdad, and four other panelists unfolded tales of horrors overtaking Christians, Yezidis (angel worshippers) and Mandaeans, members of a pacifist faith that follows the teachings of John the Baptist.
"The situation is more than desperate," said Mr. White, who described how Christians in Baghdad have been told to convert to Islam or be killed. Hundreds of those who could not afford to flee the country are living in churches without adequate food or water, he said.
Iraq's eight remaining Jews, now hiding in Baghdad, are "the oldest Jewish community in the world," he said, referring to the 597 B.C. Babylonian conquest of ancient Judah that brought the Jews to the region as captives.

Some public schools and universities are granting Muslim requests for prayer times, prayer rooms and ritual foot baths, prompting a debate on whether Islam is being given preferential treatment over other religions.
The University of Michigan at Dearborn is planning to build foot baths for Muslim students who wash their feet before prayer. An elementary school in San Diego created an extra recess period for Muslim pupils to pray.
At George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., Muslim students using a "meditation space" laid out Muslim prayer rugs and separated men and women in accordance with their Islamic beliefs.
Critics see a double standard and an organized attempt to push public conformance with Islamic law.
"What (school officials) are doing … is to give Muslim students religious benefits that they do not give any other religion right now," says Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel at the Thomas More Law Center, an advocacy group for Christians.

In Washington, a House-Senate conference committee on a homeland security bill is considering whether to include a measure to protect, from lawsuit, Americans who report suspicious behavior. The so-called "John Doe" measure comes in response to a lawsuit by six imams who were booted from a plane that was about to fly from Minneapolis late last year because they were acting very suspiciously, refusing to sit in their assigned seats, asking for metal seat belt extenders, and speaking loudly and disparagingly about the United States. The imams plan to sue not only the airline but the passengers who reported their behavior -- a step that, if successful, could have a chilling effect on whether other Americans come forward to report such behavior or whether they decide that doing so isn't worth the legal fees. Without this protection, Americans would have no reason to follow the motto of law enforcement agencies: "If you see something, say something."
Separately, the "John Doe" legislation passed both the House and Senate by overwhelming margins. But key Democrats are trying to drop it from the homeland security bill, which would kill it. House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson isn't enthused about it, and Senate Judiciary Chairman Pat Leahy spoke against it on the Senate floor. The conference committee is meeting and will make a final decision on this vital legislation in the coming days.
If you agree Americans should be encouraged to report suspicious behavior, if you agree they should not be intimidated by the threat of a lawsuit that could bankrupt them, now is the time to act.
Call or e-mail your own Senator and your House member. Tell them to insist that the conference committee include "John Doe" protection in this bill. And after calling or e-mailing your own Senator and House member, contact Congressman Thompson and Senator Leahy. Also contact House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and Senate Assistant Majority Leader Richard Durbin.
Don't leave Americans who do the right thing by reporting suspicious behavior out in the cold. Don't let Americans be intimidated into keeping quiet. In the war on terror, there's too much at stake for all of us.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Lawmakers from two major blocs in Iraq's parliament ended boycotts and returned to work this week, just two weeks before all the politicians go home for a controversial monthlong summer break.
The office of Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi, the top Sunni politician in Iraq's government, on Thursday confirmed the end of the walkout by the 44-member Iraqi Accord Front, which includes al-Hashimi's Iraq Islamic Party.
The mainly Sunni bloc had suspended its participation in the Council of Representatives last month in protest over the ouster of the Sunni parliament speaker, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani.
But al-Mashhadani -- whose Shiite deputy replaced him after a bitter quarrel between his camp and a Shiite lawmaker -- is back in the saddle as head of parliament.

July 20, 2007 - Americans are largely accepting of their fellow citizens who are Muslims, but remain worried about radicals inside the United States, according to a new NEWSWEEK Poll—the first the magazine has conducted on attitudes toward Islamic Americans. Forty percent of those surveyed believe Muslims in the United States are as loyal to the U.S. as they are to Islam. (Thirty-two percent believe American Muslims are less loyal to the U.S.) But close to half (46 percent) of Americans say this country allows too many immigrants to come here from Muslim countries.

A group of illegal immigrants who demanded he be taken off the air because they didn’t like Michael Savage's comments about their hunger strike in favor of immigration rights drew a scornful response from the talk show host.
Commenting on a hunger strike by supporters of the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act, which would make higher education or military service a part of the path to citizenship for young illegal immigrants, Savage lived up to his name by suggesting that it might be a good idea if they kept fasting until they inevitably died of starvation.
During a broadcast of his nationally syndicated show "Savage Nation” on July 5, Savage told his millions of listeners: "I would say let them fast till they starve to death. ... Because then we won't have a problem about giving them green cards because they're illegal aliens."
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, more than 30 protesters publicly denounced Savage and his remarks outside San Jose City Hall. They said his comments, which they labeled both vile language and "hate speech” should not be excused on the grounds of freedom of speech.
The group, which the Chronicle reported included San Jose State University students who participated in the hunger strike and a variety of community activists, demanded that radio stations such as Clear Channel Radio's KNEW 910 AM in San Francisco apologize for airing vile language and hate speech and cheered in support of the immigrant students who fasted.

Why Jews Must Oppose Gun Control

"Every Jew a .22" was a slogan coined by HaRav (The Rabbi) Meir Kahane, zecher tzadik livracha (may the memory of this saint be immortalized). HaRav Kahane actually preferred other guns to the small-caliber .22, but used this slogan because it rhymes.
The concept that every Jew must possess firearms and know how to use them is not a new one.
"Jews, learn to shoot!" right-wing Zionist leader Zeev Jabotinsky exhorted the Jews of Europe in the 1920s and 1930s.
But many European Jews were horrified with the notion of Jews bearing arms. So European Jews remained unarmed and defenseless, and when the Germans and the many other European Jew-killers came to murder them in the Holocaust, the Jews were easy targets as usual.
In pre-Hitler Weimar Germany, the Jews frantically pushed for strict gun control legislation.
Germans, especially in rural areas, were enraged over this attempt to take their weapons. Hitler and the Nazis campaigned on a promise to protect the "historic German right to bear arms."
Hitler promised that he would void all "Jew-inspired anti-gun laws" if elected Chancellor.
After the "broken glass" pogrom of November 1938, in which hundreds of Jews were beaten to death by Hitler's Nazi stormtroopers and ordinary German citizens, "all persons considered Jews under the Nuremberg laws" were forbidden to own guns
Of course, Hitler and the Nazis broke their promise when they did actually seize power in 1933. One of the first things the Nazis did was to seize the vast majority of guns which law-abiding citizens had in their possession.

Why we 'lost' Iraq
I take a backseat to no one in believing victory in Iraq is essential to America's national security.
I would love to see Iraqis all get along. I would love to see Iraq become a free and independent state or states. I would love to see it become a model for self-government in the Muslim Middle East.
But more important to Americans is the utter defeat of al-Qaida and Iranian proxies there. That's what constitutes victory for the U.S.
However, that's not the way President Bush defines victory. In fact, he's never defined it – which is one of the reasons we can't achieve it.
I believe I can point to the turning point in the Iraq war – the moment, the day, the hour it all started to go downhill for our mission. It is important for Americans to understand and acknowledge this turning point, or we will never learn from our mistake of historic proportions.
It happened in November 2004.
Prior to that time, there was little question America was accomplishing its mission in Iraq. It was on the way to victory. I would love to see Iraqis all get along. I would love to see Iraq become a free and independent state or states. I would love to see it become a model for self-government in the Muslim Middle East.
But more important to Americans is the utter defeat of al-Qaida and Iranian proxies there. That's what constitutes victory for the U.S.
However, that's not the way President Bush defines victory. In fact, he's never defined it – which is one of the reasons we can't achieve it.
I believe I can point to the turning point in the Iraq war – the moment, the day, the hour it all started to go downhill for our mission. It is important for Americans to understand and acknowledge this turning point, or we will never learn from our mistake of historic proportions.

Charlene Downe's Murder Trial Update
Britain's heavily controlled Politically Correct mass media continue to ignore one of the most unpleasant cases of suspected racist murder - which probably involved gang rape as well.

Right now, Iraqis suffer from 50 percent unemployment, and the prospects are especially grim for the nation's youth, noted Paul Brinkley, deputy undersecretary of defense at the Pentagon.
Iraq is largely a nation of children, he says, with some 40 percent of its population of 26 million under the age of 15. Only about 20 percent of the U.S. population is under 15, by comparison.
If economic opportunities don't improve, the children of Iraq represent "a potential pool of recruits for terrorism," Brinkley warned.
He added that despite their liberation from the clutches of tyrant Saddam Hussein, Iraqi youth currently have a "negative" impression of America due to deteriorating economic conditions.
"They have justified frustration," he said, adding that their resentment will only deepen if economic conditions don't change.

Report: Al-Qaida bakes little boys
A reporter embedded with the U.S. military in Iraq reports a government official has recounted a new atrocity by al-Qaida: several instances in which terrorists baked a young boy, then invited his family to lunch with the victim as the main course.
The report is from Michael Yon, a Special Forces soldier who returned to Iraq to report on the successes there, inspired, he told radio talk-show host Hugh Hewitt, by a "news cycle that seems to pander toward the terrorists."
Yon was in Baqubah listening to the statements of an Iraqi official who asked that his name not be reported. Yon said the Iraqi told him al-Qaida arrived in Baqubah and united a number of criminal gangs, leaving death and destruction behind.

In short, it’s the use of extreme violence against defenseless targets in an effort to force an extreme agenda upon the masses through death, destruction and fear.
Whether you are a member of PETA, the Taliban, Al Qaeda or part of some rogue third world dictatorship, you are free to harbor any extreme belief system you choose. However, you are not free to use extreme violence against civilian targets in pursuit of those belief systems. You are not free to use the death and destruction of innocent civilians or properties to promote your agenda through fear. This is terrorism… and it must not be allowed to stand, much less expand.

Congressman Ellison : Bush is Hitler

Rep. Keith Ellison , the first Afro American Muslim from Minnesota to serve in Congress, was back in Edina, Minnesota this week. On July 8th he was spoke to a group of Atheists for Human Rights- group that opposes all 'authoritarian 'religiions.
He loves to say that "after 9/11 Muslims and atheists were at the bottom of most polls".
His comment captured in a Minneapolis Star Tribune article about this event was:
"You will always find this Muslim standing up for your right to be atheists all you want."
He was playing to a crowd of enthusiastic left wing Democratic Farmer Labor party members with anti-war cant calling the Iraq war "occupation" . He also suggested impeaching Vice President Cheney for engineering the Scooter Libby commutation, however he went a little too far when it came to Pres. Bush.
In an over the top remark he accused Bush of being the equivalent of Hitler, who many believe may have lit the torch figuratively and literally that caused the Reichstag Fire of February 27, 1933 , equating it to 9/11.
He may have taken a cue from an audience member who wore a black tee shirt with "Investigate 9/11".
"It's almost like the Reichstag fire in Nazi German, kind of reminds me of that. After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it and put the leader of that country (Hitler) in a position where he could basically have the authority to do whatever he wanted. The fact is that I'm not saying [Sept. 11] was a U.S. plan, or anything like that because, you know, that's how they put you in the nut-box-dismiss you."
He also accused Bush of using so-called Faith Based Initiatives as a Department of Outreach to "the far right wing of the Christian evangelicals." "That's really all it is," Ellison said in his Edina library remarks.
Alan Fine of the blog, Minnesota Democrats Exposed and GOP candidate who ran against Ellison and lost in the heavily Democratic University of Minnesota Congressional District, had this comment about Ellison that rings true.
"Keith Ellison is among the most extreme among Democrats.His rhetoric can be heard in the halls of states and organizations (like CAIR) that support the terrorists, who would like to rewrite history and would like to destroy our nation."
Fine's dad, by the way flew 22 Missions as a USAAF pilot against Herr Hitler's regime during WWII.
The Atheists for Human Rights, a 350 member group, were ecstatic. Afterwards they got a call from an O'Reilly Factor producer asking for a DVD of Ellison's remarks and a possible stint on the Fox Cable News program.
The group's spokesperson, Marie Castle told Minneapolis Star Tribune reporter Mike Kaszuba who covered the event, "We're trying to upgrade the image of atheists. They don't think we have a moral compass." I concur with Ms. Castle last observation. This group of atheists has no moral compass by giving a soapbox to Rep. Ellison to prattle his provocative and 'incendiary' views.
Apparently, the sponsoring atheist group received objections from fellow atheists about permitting a Muslim to speak. At least those few who objected had a 'moral compass'.
So what can we expect out of this? A five minute food fight with Ellison on the Fox Cable O'Reilly Factor program giving him an audience of millions and the undying thanks for Ms. Castle and her fellow Minnesotans at Atheists for Human Rights. Little do they know that Ellison lied to them. They have no rights under Muslim Sharia law.
They are just Dhimmis.

Islamic Tolerance Alert: Muslim-born woman seeks life as Hindu
SHAH ALAM, Malaysia—A Muslim-born woman who was forced to spend six months in an Islamic rehabilitation center because she wants to live as a Hindu said Friday after her release that she will never return to her original faith.
Revathi Masoosai, 29, said officials at the center tried to make her pray as a Muslim, wear a head scarf and eat beef, a practice sacrilege to Hindus.
"Because of their behavior, I loathe Islam even more now," she told reporters. "They say it's a school, but it's actually a prison."
Her case is one of a growing number of conflicts in Malaysia between religious freedom and state policies that favor Islam, the official faith of this southeast Asian nation. The battles have strained ethnic relations in the multicultural nation.
Malaysia is considered one of the world's most relaxed Muslim countries, having enjoyed racial peace for nearly four decades. But it follows a dual justice system. Islamic, Shariah, courts administer the personal affairs of Muslims, while civil courts govern Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and other religious minorities.
Under Islamic law, a person who is born Muslim cannot convert to another religion.
The Islamic Religious Department in southern Malacca state detained Revathi, an ethnic Indian, in January and sent her for religious counseling after officials discovered she had married a Hindu man.

Poll reveals 40pc of Muslims want sharia law in UK
Four out of 10 British Muslims want sharia law introduced into parts of the country, a survey reveals today.
The ICM opinion poll also indicates that a fifth have sympathy with the "feelings and motives" of the suicide bombers who attacked London last July 7, killing 52 people, although 99 per cent thought the bombers were wrong to carry out the atrocity.

Overall, the findings depict a Muslim community becoming more radical and feeling more alienated from mainstream society, even though 91 per cent still say they feel loyal to Britain.
The results of the poll, conducted for the Sunday Telegraph, came as thousands of Muslims staged a fresh protest in London yesterday against the publication of cartoons of Mohammed. In Libya, at least 10 people died in protests linked to the caricatures.
And in Pakistan, a cleric was reported to have put a $1 million (£575,000) bounty on the head of the Danish cartoonist who drew the original pictures.
Last night, Sadiq Khan, the Labour MP involved with the official task force set up after the July attacks, said the findings were "alarming". He added: "Vast numbers of Muslims feel disengaged and alienated from mainstream British society." Sir Iqbal Sacranie, the secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: "This poll confirms the widespread opposition among British Muslims to the so-called war on terror."
The most startling finding is the high level of support for applying sharia law in "predominantly Muslim" areas of Britain.

Half of the 500 people surveyed said relations between white Britons and Muslims were getting worse. Only just over half thought the conviction of the cleric Abu Hamza for incitement to murder and race hatred was fair.
The ICM opinion poll also indicates that a fifth have sympathy with the "feelings and motives" of the suicide bombers who attacked London last July 7, killing 52 people, although 99 per cent thought the bombers were wrong to carry out the atrocity.

Overall, the findings depict a Muslim community becoming more radical and feeling more alienated from mainstream society, even though 91 per cent still say they feel loyal to Britain.
The results of the poll, conducted for the Sunday Telegraph, came as thousands of Muslims staged a fresh protest in London yesterday against the publication of cartoons of Mohammed. In Libya, at least 10 people died in protests linked to the caricatures.
And in Pakistan, a cleric was reported to have put a $1 million (£575,000) bounty on the head of the Danish cartoonist who drew the original pictures.
Last night, Sadiq Khan, the Labour MP involved with the official task force set up after the July attacks, said the findings were "alarming". He added: "Vast numbers of Muslims feel disengaged and alienated from mainstream British society." Sir Iqbal Sacranie, the secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: "This poll confirms the widespread opposition among British Muslims to the so-called war on terror."
The most startling finding is the high level of support for applying sharia law in "predominantly Muslim" areas of Britain.

Islamic law is used in large parts of the Middle East, including Iran and Saudi Arabia, and is enforced by religious police. Special courts can hand down harsh punishments which can include stoning and amputation.
