The European Union has drawn up guidelines advising government spokesmen to refrain from linking Islam and terrorism in their statements.
Brussels officials have confirmed the existence of a classified handbook which offers "non-offensive" phrases to use when announcing anti-terrorist operations or dealing with terrorist attacks.
Banned terms are said to include "jihad", "Islamic" or "fundamentalist".
The word "jihad" is to be avoided altogether, according to some sources, because for Muslims the word can mean a personal struggle to live a moral life.
One alternative, suggested publicly last year, is for the term "Islamic terrorism" to be replaced by "terrorists who abusively invoke Islam".
An EU official said that the secret guidebook, or, "common lexicon", is aimed at preventing the distortion of the Muslim faith and the alienation of Muslims in Europe.
"The common lexicon includes guidance on a number of frequently used terms where lack of care by EU and member states' spokespeople may give rise to misunderstandings," he said.
"Careful usage of certain terms is not about empty political correctness but stems from astute awareness of the EU's interests in the fight against terrorism.
"Terrorists exploit and augment suspicions."
Details on the contents of the lexicon remain secret, but British officials stressed that it is there as a helpful aid "providing context" for civil servants making speeches or giving press conferences.
"We are fully signed up to this, but it is not binding," said one.
However, Conservative MEP Syed Kamall hit out at the lexicon. "It is this kind of political correctness and secrecy that creates resentment among both the mainstream in Europe and in Islam," he said.
Meanwhile, UK Independence Party MEP Gerard Batten claimed that the EU was in denial over the true roots of terrorism.
"This type of newspeak shows that the EU refuses to face reality," he said. "The major world terrorist threat is one posed by ideology and that ideology is inspired by fundamentalist jihadi Islam."

Ali Reza Afshar, said that because of the "wrong behavior" of the British government, "the release of a female British soldier has been suspended," the semiofficial Iranian news agency Mehr reported.
Iran's top negotiator, Ali Larijani, also hinted that the British crew members may be put on trial. ...
If Britain follows through with its policies toward Iran, Larijani said "this case may face a legal path" — a clear reference to Iran's prosecuting the sailors in court.
Blair's official spokesman said Britain wanted to resolve the crisis quickly and without having a "confrontation over this."

The officials said dozens were injured and missing, with some saying up to 10 people were killed. The rest of the village's 3,000 residents fled or were evacuated by rescue crews.
A 70-year-old woman, two toddlers and a teenage girl died in the sudden flood, and 25 people were injured, said Dr. Muawiya Hassanin of the Palestinian Health Ministry. ...
Rescue crews and Hamas gunmen rushed to the area to search for people feared buried under the slide of sewage and mud. ...
The cause of the collapse was not immediately clear. A local Palestinian official blamed the disaster on shoddy infrastructure and UN officials said they had been warning of a catastrophe for more than two years. ...
Stuart Shepard, of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said the wave of waste released Tuesday sent the health risks even higher. ...
Shepard said that since the report was published, international funding for a new plant had been secured but construction had not been able to go ahead because of the high security risks in the area.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum blamed international "sanctions against Palestinians, including Gaza and the West Bank" for the condition of Gaza's infrastructure. Most foreign donors froze aid to the Palestinian government after Hamas swept to power in a 2006 general election, but Shepard said the Umm Naser project had not been affected by the boycott. ...
Abu Safia explained that the lagoon which collapsed is a smaller one built to relieve pressure from the larger pool. He says there are plans to change the infrastructure in the area, and construction began two years ago with foreign aid, but several more years, and more money, are needed. The recent political sanctions of the PA have slowed down the work, he added.
"Foreign experts are unable to come to Gaza," he said. ..
Several major sewage treatment projects funded by foreign donors, including one in Umm Naser, were frozen after Hamas won elections last year.

FRANCE DISCIPLINE MUSLIM MALCONTENTS?

Grant Swank, Jr.“As interior minister before he stepped down Monday to focus on his campaign, Nicolas Sarkozy tightened immigration laws and boasted that he had expelled tens of thousands of illegal immigrants and prevented others from entering. His pledge in 2005 to rid France’s ethnic Arab and Muslim suburbs of ‘scum’ contributed to a three-week orgy of violence there.
“Mr. Sarkozy, who has largely avoided the suburbs during his campaign, has criticized immigrants and their offspring who resist the French model of integration, saying it is unacceptable to want to live in France without respecting and loving the country or learning French.
“He touched off the current debate in a television appearance on March 8 when he announced a plan to create a ‘ministry of immigration and national identity’ if elected,” per New York Times’ Elaine Sciolino.
France is coming to grips with extremist Muslims who move in to demand, never dialogue. It’s their way or no way. If France wakes up, perhaps all of EU will do the same. If not, the national identities will flush out quickly.
France’s presidential campaign has brought to the surface this extremist Muslim plight. Not too soon, for sure.
“During a campaign trip last week in the Caribbean, where some of the region’s residents can vote in French elections, Mr. Sarkozy boasted that after he proposed his immigration and national identity ministry, his standing in the polls jumped.”
Thank God.
May America take warning. May Canada take warning. Otherwise, we will have North America bowing down to Allah, the Koran and sharia’s so-called legal and justice system. It’s that crucial.

Dissidents have put police in quandaries. Dissidents have so outnumbered local cops that there are times when the authorities simply ignore carnage going on in neighborhoods. It’s not safe for them to plunge into the abyss. Not good for France, is it?
The press reports: “The battle over French identity has overtaken discussion of more practical issues like reducing unemployment and making France more competitive.”
It’s quite logical for the “French identity” issue to beg for top priority. If that issue is not settled in favor of France being French, then all other concerns will be lost from civility. Barbarism will rule big time.
“On Tuesday, as if to underscore the tensions over identity, roving bands of young people threw objects at the police, smashed store windows and damaged property for several hours at the Gare du Nord, a major train station in Paris.”
There’s your example for a future France without its heritage, its tradition, and its accustomed lifestyle. .
“For the past few years, France has struggled with economic and cultural issues related to its immigrants. One is shared by much of the rest of Europe: how to stop the influx of illegal immigrants who drain a country’s economy and social services. A second is how to force French citizens of immigrant origin to obey laws, including those banning practices like polygamy and the wearing of head scarves by Muslim girls and women in schools and universities.”
There you have it. Media does try to underplay the extremist Muslim threat, but it is so much in-your-face that press has to acknowledge it in plain language, even when soft-pedaling so as not to be a part of the upset.

The Next War?

The capture by Iran of fifteen British sailors and marines while they were inspecting a trading dhow in international waters for smuggled goods could be the spark that ignites the next war.
Whether that happens or not will not depend on us, or on the Brits. It will depend on President Ahmadinejad, his backers in Tehran, and Iran’s Supreme Leader.
Clearly, Ahmadinejad and his supporters have been planning this sort of thing for some time.
One week before the kidnapping of the British hostages, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards weekly newspaper, Sobh-e Sadeq, published these incendiary remarks from Reza Fakr, a writer said to have close links to Ahmadinejad:
“We’ve got the ability to capture a nice bunch of blue-eyed blond-haired officers and feed them to our fighting cocks. Iran has enough people who can reach the heart of Europe and kidnap Americans and Israelis.”

Per Daily Mail: “Protesters waved placards demanding ‘15 British aggressors must be executed’ outside the foreign ministry.
“Video footage on state TV of Tehran parading its captives inflamed the worsening crisis - and led to demands for decisive action from the Foreign Office.”
It’s the Islamic way in Iran particularly. Nothing new. Nothing novel.
“Tory former Foreign Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind said the pictures were ‘totally repugnant’. He said: ‘This is a PR exercise. If they believed in their own propaganda, they would release all of our personnel.
“’We need to make clear there will be no concessions and they will suffer harsher penalties unless our personnel are handed over.’”
In the cat-and-mouse game, one never can predict the macabre outcome. Anything at all is possible when dealing with the killing cult. Anything at all.
Surely now President George W. Bush, British PM Tony Blair and Prince Charles have been schooled to conclude that Islam is not a “religion of peace” but a “religion of pieces” — basically broken limbs and tossed heads.
May the free world grassroots learn the same message when Muslims appeal to immigrate.

Hometown Jihad: The Return of Salah Sultan
By Patrick PooleThis story was first presented to FrontPage readers in “Hometown Jihad,” where I recounted my finding a Muslim Brotherhood operative, Dr. Salah Sultan, living right around the corner from me and teaching out of the Islamic school, Sunrise Academy, which had set up shop during my absence in the city’s former library building. Sultan is a protégé of Yousef Al-Qaradawi, the Qatar-based spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, who the Anti-Defamation League has described as “The Theologian of Terror” for his advocacy of HAMAS suicide bombings against Israel and giving religious edicts for Muslims to fight and kill American troops overseas.
In a follow-up article, “Hometown Jihad: Blowback,” I wrote about the fallout from the publication of that first article, including how the local paper, the Columbus Dispatch, rose to the defense of Salah Sultan and Sunrise Academy. Not only did the Dispatch article ignore all of the documentation I had provided to the paper on Sultan and the Islamic school in addition to what appeared in that first article, but it went so far in its defense to characterize FrontPage Magazine (and by association, myself) as neo-Nazi propaganda tool for daring to raise the issue.
But in a strange turn of events, that Dispatch article, which airbrushed Sultan as a “moderate” Muslim, was published just days before Sultan appeared on Saudi Arabian Al-Risala TV, where he informed viewers that the US government was behind the 9/11 attacks, which he said were planned “to enable the U.S. to control and terrorize the entire world, and to get American society to agree to the war declared on terrorism,” and defending Yemeni al-Qaeda cleric Abd Al-Majid Al-Zindani, a close associate of Osama bin Laden that has been listed by the US government as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” and identified by one analyst as the “Yemeni Sheikh of Hate”. Fortunately, Sultan’s Al-Risala interview was recorded [video] by the good folks at the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), though the Dispatch offered no retraction when informed about these new statements from the man they had just days before defended as a “moderate” Muslim.

Our Struggle with the Jews is a Struggle for Existence, Not a Struggle for Land

The enemies of Islaam and the ignorant people that follow them are trying to portray the reality of the struggle against the Jews as a struggle for land and borders, and as a problem of refugees and water ports. And they make it seem as if it is possible to end this struggle with peaceful coexistence and by compensating the refugees, rectifying their condition of living, dispersing them throughout the land and establishing a weak petty secular state, which will live under the Zionist power and which will serve as a shield for the Zionist state (against their surrounding enemies).
But all of these people don’t realize that our struggle with the Jews goes way back, ever since the first Islamic state was established in Madeenah with Muhammad (SAWS) the Messenger sent to all of mankind, as its leader. Allaah has related to us in the Qur'ân, the reality of the Jews’ malice and hatred for the ummah of Islaam and Tawheed, as he says: “You will surely find that the people with the most enmity towards the believers are the Jews and the polytheists.”

So see how Allaah has placed the Jews before the polytheists in their hatred and enmity (towards the Muslims). Even though they are united in their disbelief, they differ (from others) in their (immense) hatred towards the ummah of Muhammad (SAWS), as Allaah says: “The Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their religion (way).” [Surah Al-Baqarah: 120]
And ever since the first hour in which the Muslims let the beautiful fragrance of Islaam flow through it (Madeenah), the Jews were there showing enmity to the Muslims and their Prophet. So our Prophet, Muhammad (SAWS), was not safe from the harm of the Jews amongst their ranks. They tried to kill him three times. One time, they tried to kill him by putting a heavy rock on his head. Another time was when they placed poison in the forearm of a goat (for him to eat). And a third case was when the Jewish boy, Lubaid bin al-A’asam, may Allaah’s curse be on him, put a magic spell on him.
And lo, there are the Americans, supplying the Jews with the most ferocious and harmful weapons of destruction, so that they can kill the Muslim children, women and elderly people of Palestine. And they preoccupied the world with their American elections for the purpose of drawing attention away from the Jewish massacre and butchering of the Muslim people of Palestine.
And lo! There are the British, who supply the Jews with loud and explosive ammunition, which when used result in horrific deaths and everlasting handicapping for the youth of Palestine. So this ummah (nation of Palestinians) are open prey - whether young or old, infant or woman – in the hands of the Jews and their supporters.
And lo! There are the supporters of the Jews, who preoccupy the ummah and draw their attention away from the casualties suffered by the Muslim people of Palestine. And they make the people blind to the crimes committed by the Jews by broadcasting the Olympics and other worthless programs, which only make the ummah numb and put it to sleep!
Don’t the Muslims know that our struggle against the Jews is a struggle of Creed and a struggle of Religious livelihood? Don’t they realize that it is a struggle of culture, a struggle to remain in existence, a struggle of identification? Wasn’t it the Jews who set fire to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsaa? Weren’t they the ones who initiated archeological excavations under it, (ruining its foundation), so that afterward it can crumble on its own?? Weren’t they the ones who killed Muslims while they were prostrating in the month of Ramadaan in Masjid Al-Khaleel?!? Did they not cut open the stomachs of pregnant women, murder babies and set fire to the pastures and the farmlands!? Wasn’t it the Jews who transformed the masjids of Palestine into bars of alcohol and gambling?! Did they not turn them into compounds for animals and garbage dumps?!?
Then after all of this, it is said: “Our struggle against the Jews is a struggle for land and a border dispute!!” And the desired solution is to establish a petty Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, so that the followers of the three monotheistic – or so they claim - faiths can live in it. Are these people ignorant of the fact that the only Religion acceptable in the sight of Allaah is Islaam? Or are they ignorant of the fact that Ibraheem is free and absolved from the polytheism and idolatry the Jews and Christians are upon. “Ibraaheem was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but rather he was Haneef (worshipping Allaah alone), a Muslim. And he was not from the polytheists.” [Surah Aali ‘Imraan: 67]
Indeed, the only solution, which the Jews will understand, is Jihaad – done with its proper conditions – to raise high the Word of Allaah. The Jews do not want peace, rather they only want that this ummah surrender and submit itself to them, and that it bow and debase itself to them. And they want that it wipe out the word Jihaad from its vocabulary! They want them to become slaves, employees and laborers for them, having the right to beat them with their shoes and lash them with their whips whenever they feel like it!
Our real struggle with the Jews will not end by setting up a withered state that doesn’t raise the banner of Islaam nor establishes the Laws of Allaah. How can it come to an end when the Muslim recites in his prayer seventeen times - day and night – “And do not make us from those who gained Your Anger nor from those who went astray.” [Surah Al-Faatihah: 7]
Those who “gained Your Anger” are the Jews and those who “went astray” are the Christians, according to the unanimous agreement of the Tafseer scholars, and this is so until the Day of Judgement.
So the decisive battle in which the Jews will come to an end will most assuredly come to pass – it is inevitable. It will be a battle of Faith and a battle of servitude to Allaah.
This is a true promise from the one who doesn’t speak from his own desire (Prophet Muhammad (SAWS), which confirms the true nature of our struggle against the Jews, unlike what the misguided and misguiding media is portraying.

Rosie: Captured Brits a hoax to provoke war
In a discussion about the 15 British personnel seized Friday for allegedly entering Iranian waters, the controversial co-host of ABC's "The View" correlated the event to the Gulf of Tonkin incident that propelled the U.S. into the Vietnam War. President Johnson's administration was accused of provoking one incident in 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin and making up another as a pretext for war.
O'Donnell, according to the media watchdog Newsbusters, said: "But interesting with the British sailors, there were 15 British sailors and Marines who apparently went into Iranian waters and they were seized by the Iranians. And I have one thing to say: Gulf of Tonkin, Google it. Okay."

Clerics' lawsuit threatens security of all passengers

Since the terror attacks of 9/11, that common-sense message has been displayed prominently worldwide for obvious reasons.
Police and transportation authorities can't be everywhere. Whether at an airport, bus or rail station, officials need passengers to alert them to unattended baggage that might contain explosives and behavior that appears out of the ordinary.
Now the reward for being vigilant apparently includes being dragged into a lawsuit and accused of bigotry. The wry adage about how no good deed goes unpunished seems apt, though not so funny.
The imams' actions last November appeared to be either deliberately provocative or clueless as to how others might perceive them.
Under the circumstances, the pilot made a reasonable judgment call to remove them from the plane. Some of the facts are in dispute: The imams deny making any anti-American remarks and say seats were changed to accommodate a blind cleric who might need assistance. They accuse the airline of slandering them.
CAIR Must Be Fought, Pt. II

Last week I wrote an article in these pages entitled A Call To Arms: Cair Must Be Fought. In my article I repeated what I have been saying (and writing) since the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) began attacking the free speech rights of American citizens: that CAIR must “be countered with a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that could raise tax-deductible contributions for the sole purpose of fighting CAIR in court.”
Examples of CAIR’s court cases, including its most recent on behalf of the “flying imams,” were discussed.
As a result of my article, I’ve been asked exactly how CAIR could be fought in court. There are many ways, and the remainder of this article explains just one of them.
At least 23 states and one territory have statutes known by their acronym SLAPP—“Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation.” [1] Actually, the laws are known as “Anti-SLAPP” statutes because they protect “public participants” from lawsuits brought by people who want to silence them.
Since the “flying imam” flap originated in Minnesota, I’ll use that states’ “Anti-SLAPP” statute as my example of what smart, tough lawyers can do to the bullying thugs of CAIR. The statute appears in bold face below; my comments are interspersed.
But before getting to that, I want to set the stage.
A broadcaster urges the FBI to search every mosque in America, a blogger demands the state department deny visas to Muslims, a newspaper editorial insists that the Attorney General prosecute citizen Islamofascists for treason.
Next, on behalf of itself and/or the allegedly injured parties, CAIR sues everyone connected with the incident. Also sued, as in the flying imam case, are “John Does”—other people allegedly connected to the incident whose names are not yet known to the plaintiffs.
These defendants are not powerless. These defendants are not sheep going to slaughter under CAIR’s knife. Every one of these defendants, every time, should invoke an available “Anti-Slapp” statute, like this one.

Russian Military Source: US Attack On Iran Planned For Early April
WASHINGTON DC, — The long awaited US military attack on Iran is now on track for the first week of April, specifically for 4 am on April 6, the Good Friday opening of Easter weekend, writes the well-known Russian journalist Andrei Uglanov in the Moscow weekly “Argumenty Nedeli.” Uglanov cites Russian military experts close to the Russian General Staff for his account.
The attack is slated to last for 12 hours, according to Uglanov, from 4 am until 4 pm local time. Friday is the sabbath in Iran. In the course of the attack, code named Operation Bite, about 20 targets are marked for bombing; the list includes uranium enrichment facilities, research centers, and laboratories.
The first reactor at the Bushehr nuclear plant, where Russian engineers are working, is supposed to be spared from destruction. The US attack plan reportedly calls for the Iranian air defense system to be degraded, for numerous Iranian warships to be sunk in the Persian Gulf, and for the most important headquarters of the Iranian armed forces to be wiped out.
The attacks will be mounted from a number of bases, including the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Diego Garcia is currently home to B-52 bombers equipped with standoff missiles. Also participating in the air strikes will be US naval aviation from aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf, as well as from those of the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. Additional cruise missiles will be fired from submarines in the Indian Ocean and off the coast of the Arabian peninsula. The goal is allegedly to set back Iran’s nuclear program by several years, writes Uglanov, whose article was reissued by RIA-Novosti in various languages, but apparently not English, several days ago. The story is the top item on numerous Italian and German blogs, but so far appears to have been ignored by US websites.
Observers comment that this dispatch represents a high-level orchestrated leak from the Kremlin, in effect a war warning, which draws on the formidable resources of the Russian intelligence services, and which deserves to be taken with the utmost seriousness by pro-peace forces around the world.
IRAN: STUDENT FREEDOM-FIGHTERS ATTACKED

“’They told [my parents] that I was going to be executed, then I heard my mother faint and then my father cried and begged them not to kill me.’”
BBC News reports that students fought for freedom throughout Iran on July 9, 1999.
The demonstration spread from Tehran University. Students were clubbed, some were murdered by police.
Mohammad Reza Kasrani remembers it well: “It was Friday evening 9 July when a friend told me about the attack on the students’ dormitory in Tehran university, which had happened early in the morning.
“I rushed there. God, it could not be described in any words: walls demolished, cupboards destroyed, students’ belongings thrown out through the windows. Even some students who had been sleeping or doing their morning prayers were thrown out through the windows from the second and the third floors.
“A group of vigilantes, who are called ‘plainclothes’, had attacked students who the day before were peacefully demonstrating in protest at the closure of a reformist newspaper by the judiciary. During the five days after the attack, while the students staged demonstrations, the plainclothes attacked government buildings and set buses on fire, but it was the students who were later blamed for this vandalism.
“The ‘plainclothes’ attacked the students by sticks and batons and even fired tear gas. The students were not organized and their movement had no leadership, they just acted in an atmosphere filled with emotion and sensitivity. All the students wanted was to bring those who attacked the dormitory to justice but, as the protest and unrest went on, more radical people joined the movement and slogans against the country’s leaders were chanted.
“The unrest was brutally suppressed after five days.
“It was on the fifth day that I was arrested by the agents of the intelligence ministry, while standing by the gate of Tehran University. They put me in a cage, which was laid on the back of a pickup truck, and took me to a building which belonged to the police.
“They took me out of the van when we reached the yard. From there to the door leading into the building soldiers were standing in rows on both sides, which reminded me of a ‘corridor of fear’. Then they beat me and two other students severely. They told us to sit and stand up many times that our knees were locked and we fell on the ground; they beat us again.
“Finally, they blindfolded us and took us to a hall inside the building. They made me sit on a chair. Somebody came and opened my blindfold and showed me a student statement and asked me if I believed in what was said in that text. I said yes. When he left, another one in a commando uniform came in. He beat me hard.
“They only kept me one day in that building, and then I was transferred to Evin Prison and, later, a police detention center for interrogation. In that detention center, they beat me on the soles of the feet with a cable for four continuous days and I was also subject to psychological torture for a month.
“They told us that were would be executed.
“At one stage, I heard the voices of my parents from another room. They were told that I was going to be executed. Then I heard my mother faint and then my father cried and begged them not to kill me.
“I heard them say to my parents: ‘For this bastard, you should not even read Koran after his death.’ I said to God: ‘I am going to be killed for my country’s freedom and for my religion, now my parents cannot even mourn for me.’
“Later, when I was freed, I found out that they played the recorded voice of my parents from another room. They put me in a situation where I was totally convinced my parents were being tortured. Before I was arrested, I always believed that we could criticize the Islamic establishment by peaceful dialogue and that the officials would reform the system.
“But after my arrest, my belief has completely changed. I have reached the conclusion that the
officials are not thinking for reforms at all. I think the student movement in Iran is living in very uncertain situation.
“The government has been able to create an atmosphere of terror which has led to the students’ frustration.
But I believe this phase would be a transitional one. There are signs that the student movement is going to be revived again.”

QUEBEC TO MUSLIMS: REMOVE VEIL

Marcel Blanchet, the French-speaking province’s election chief, informed press that there will be no compromise. No tolerating the veil. The head has to reveal the identity of the voter or else no ballot.
At first, Blanchet said that Muslim women could wear the head covering. He got static from those who saw red. Now he has changed his mind. It pays to protest for the sake of reason in a democracy.
“‘Relevant articles to electoral laws were modified to add the following: any person showing up at a polling station must be uncovered to exercise the right to vote,’ he said.”
Uncovered.
Because Blanchet stuck to democracy’s reason, he had to employ two bodyguards because threat phone messages and emails were left for his perusal.
Of course, Muslim zealots protested the reasonable move. They always do. They move into a non-Muslim environs, not to dialogue, but demand. When their extremist demands are given the upper hand, then democracy loses as Islam World Rule begins its takeover in that locale.
“’I am so saddened, I doubt many of these women will show up at the polls on Monday after all this mockery,’ said Sarah Elgazzar of the Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations.”
Sad that the extremist Muslims enjoying democracy’s blessings cannot get the message of daily freedom. Instead, they grouse over their illogical, demanding Koran-inspired sharia-dominated insanity not getting its way.
Brits now have passed a law stating that students in public schools must have their heads uncovered.
France passed legislation declaring heads had to be revealing the identity of the mortal carrying the head.
The Netherlands informed press that Muslim women cannot go around with their heads
covered in public areas.
Germany agreed with Brits on no veils in schools.
“Last week in Quebec, a young Muslim woman was forced to quit her job at a prison after she refused to remove her headscarf. The public security department supported the decision, citing security concerns, but Muslim groups pointed out that the Canadian Armed Forces allow women to wear headscarves on active duty.
“Last month, an 11-year-old Muslim girl from Ontario participating in a soccer tournament in Quebec was pulled from the field after she refused the referee’s request to remove her headscarf.”
It is unbelievable the obstinacy of these radical, extremist Muslims who breathe in free air but want to sabotage the nation providing it.

How We Fund Hamas University

How could the U.S. government be funding Hamas’s university in Gaza? It’s the question that has been asked often since my front-page story in the Washington Times earlier this month, from Capitol Hill to the State Department’s daily press briefing.
No good answer was provided—but in fairness, no good answer exists for supporting a college controlled by Hamas. The alternatives, though, aren’t much better. The sad reality of Palestinian society is that almost any university the U.S. might choose to support at a minimum has student chapters of terrorist organizations on campus.
Whereas Americans have College Republicans and College Democrats, Palestinians have College Hamas and College Islamic Jihad.
Even Al Quds University—embraced as the bastion of moderation by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)—engaged in a weeklong celebration this January of the terrorist credited with developing the first suicide belts more than a decade ago.
Given how much leverage the U.S. has—just through money alone—officials could have demanded that at least some of the support or glorification of terrorism be put to an end. There’s no indication, though, that any such pressure was applied.
Rather, it appears that USAID, most likely with guidance from State, decided to fund Palestinian universities with troubling terrorism ties—including the Hamas-controlled Islamic University—and simply hope that no one would catch on. That might have been the case—if not for the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), which keeps a watchful eye on everything from school textbooks to television shows and newspaper articles.
PMW has documented, mostly through local and school newspaper articles, that student chapters of terrorist organizations are the most potent political forces on the vast majority of Palestinian campuses. And it was PMW Director Itamar Marcus who tipped off this journalist that USAID’s support of Islamic University needed to be investigated. Marcus provided a 2006 article from Hamas’s newspaper al-Risala proclaiming that 16 Islamic University teachers had just been elected as Hamas members of the Palestinian legislature.
It took several weeks to compile overwhelming evidence of Hamas control of Islamic University, but it was all attainable trough open sources—and it is precisely the kind of information that should have been uncovered in the “careful vetting process” State insists occurred before the school received assistance.
Thus it was all the more vexing that the official line, established by State Department spokesman Sean McCormack the day the article ran, is that Hamas University is “independent.” No proof was offered to support this contention, nor was any argument advanced challenging the evidence in the article pointing to Hamas’s firm control of Islamic University:
Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin founded the school in 1978.
Sheikh Yassin, former Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi, and current Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh have all used the school as a base.
Haniyeh sits on the school’s board of trustees.
The school’s 16 parliamentarians account for more than one-fifth of all Hamas legislators.
Hamas used the campus to host a two-day conference in 2005 on the “martyrdom” of Sheikh Yassin.
Students gave 78% of their student council votes in 2005 to the Hamas-affiliated party.
Congress didn’t buy State’s spin. House Foreign Affairs chairman Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA) unleashed a blistering attack to open his committee’s USAID hearing, held three days after the article ran. Making sure his words would not be misinterpreted, Lantos told USAID Director Ambassador Randall Tobias, “Providing U.S. assistance to a terrorist-controlled university in Gaza was out of the question and, in fact, violates U.S. law.” He added, “This outrageous support for terrorism must and will end.”
This isn’t the first time Congress has told State and USAID that funding in the West Bank and Gaza needed serious reform. Following publication of a Palestinian Media Watch report in June 2004 about USAID funding entities engaged in the support, advocacy, or glorification of terrorism, Congress moved to restrict aid to institutions or individuals “involved in or advocating terrorist activity.”
Within months of the law being changed, USAID issued its next batch of assistance to the Hamas-controlled Islamic University—exactly as it had before Congress acted. It’s not clear, in fact, that USAID did anything of substance to be in compliance with the clear intent of Congress.
When asked by this journalist about its funding decisions in the West Bank and Gaza, USAID pointed to $2.3 million in assistance provided to Al Quds University. Undermining USAID’s argument that funding the school is wise policy, however, was the weeklong celebration this January of Yahya Ayyash, the Hamas leader known as “the shahid [martyr] engineer.” He is credited with creating the first suicide belts in the mid-1990s and training the next generation of suicide bomb makers.
The school’s celebration of a leading terrorist actually seems to be in line with the beliefs of its leader. The president of Al-Quds University President, Sari Nusseibeh, is widely considered a leading Palestinian moderate—USAID praised him as “one such prominent and respected figure”—yet he, too, celebrates the glories of terrorists.
In an appearance on Al-Jazeera in 2002 with Hamas political bureau chief Khalid Mashaal and the mother of a suicide bomber, Nusseibeh had this to say of the woman who proudly raised a terrorist: “When I hear the words of Umm Nidal, I recall the [Koranic] verse stating that ‘Paradise lies under the feet of mothers.’ All respect is due to this mother; it is due to every Palestinian mother and every female Palestinian who is a Jihad fighter on this land.” (Transcript provided by PMW.)
As Palestinian colleges go, Al-Quds University might well be quite moderate—but that’s the problem. If terrorists are hailed as heroes at the moderate schools, imagine what happens at the more radical ones.
If Congress successfully closes all loopholes this time around, maybe we won’t have to.

16 February 2007: For well over a decade, federal officials, politicians, and members of the major media have gone to absurd lengths to avoid disclosing that Islam has been a motivating factor and a major component in numerous murders, murderous sprees and other acts of violence and sabotage by "lone individuals." It is an undeniable fact that there are Muslims – perhaps not the majority but a significant number – who advocate personal "jihad" in its most literal sense, citing passages in the Qu’ran and Sunnah. It is also undeniable that Arabic language Islamic religious forums, message boards on the Internet actually encourage Muslims to engage in such activities against the infidels, and especially the "Great Satan" and the Jews.
If you dare mention, however, any possible religious motivation when the perpetrator is a Muslim, you are immediately labeled "Islamophobic," the politically correct buzzword that is applied to anyone who conducts a reasonable examination of the evidence and dares to ask whether the crime was rooted in religious ideology. That same media and those same politicians, in contrast, had no problem immediately identifying the religious and ideological convictions of James KOPP, the man convicted in the 1998 murder of a Buffalo, NY doctor who performed abortions, and others adherent to the same ideology. If Christian zealots who murder because of their religious motivations are considered legitimate fodder for public officials, politicians and media, then why should these same officials, politicians and the media be so opposed to holding Muslims to the same standards of reporting? I agree that the ideology that motivated KOPP to kill the Buffalo physician should be exposed and publicized. The same standards, or considering that we are a nation at war against those who adhere to orthodox Islam, even stricter standards, should apply to all violent crimes committed by Muslim terrorists who are already in this country.
The murderous rampage by Bosnian Muslim Sulejmen TALOVIC at the Trolley Square Mall in Salt Lake City, Utah last Monday, where he murdered 5 people and wounded 4 others is an example of the duplicity of some who are leading this country, others who are protecting this country, and those who are reporting on events taking place within this country. The absence of intellectual honesty exhibited by reporters like Elaine Jarvik and Deborah Bulkeley of the Deseret Morning News pertaining to Monday’s massacre in Utah is widespread and mentally staggering, but not without precedent.
Muslims have been waging their individual Jihad inside the United States for years, although very few in the major media appear willing to identify these religiously motivated murderers unless the whole of America witnesses the attacks on television. Consider the following for examples of this duplicity:
On the evening of November 5, 1990, El Sayyid NOSAIR murdered Jewish Rabbi and political activist Meir Kahne at a New York hotel where he was speaking. Fleeing from the hotel, NOSAIR scuffled and seriously injured a 73 year-old man who tried to stop him, and shot a postal inspector in the chest. The postal inspector survived as he was wearing a Kevlar vest. Within 48 hours of murder, police declared that NOSAIR acted alone and the assassination was not related to Islamic terrorism but to the "mental state" and depression of the shooter. The truth, however, came out five years later during the trial of Shaykh Omar when it was revealed that NOSAIR had been under FBI surveillance since the late 1980’s, and was associated with the terrorists involved in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. In fact, the FBI had photographic evidence of NOSAIR and others convicted of the bombing shooting 9-millimeter semiautomatic pistols and AK-47 rifles at a shooting range on Long Island.
Less than 4 years later on March 1, 1994, a Muslim identified as Rashid BAZ shot into a van carrying Hasidic Jews on the Brooklyn Bridge, murdering one of the Jewish occupants of the van. The FBI attributed the actions of Rashid BAZ as "road rage," and not terrorist related or religiously motivated.
Ten years ago this month, on February 24, 1997, a Muslim identified as Ali Abu KAMAL waged his own jihad from the 86th floor observation deck at the Empire State Building. KAMAL, a 69 year-old Palestinian from Ramallah "made some sort of statement about Egypt" before he began shooting at tourists killing one person and wounding six others. He then shot himself in the head and died 5 hours later at a New York hospital. Witnesses stated that during the shooting spree, KAMAL asked potential victims whether they were from Egypt. Then-mayor Rudolph Giuliani attributed the actions of the gunman to his mental state of mind, while police officials later concluded that KAMAL "acted out of rage at monetary loss."
On October 31, 1999 at about 1:50 a.m., EgyptAir Flight 990, a Los Angeles to New York to Cairo flight dove into the Atlantic Ocean about 60 miles south of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, killing 203 passengers and 14 crewmembers. Investigation by the NTSB determined that relief pilot Gamil al-BATOUTI, a Muslim from Egypt who was at the controls at the time of the crash, turned off the autopilot and deliberately crashed the plane into the ocean. Cockpit voice recorders contained evidence that al-Batouti repeated recited "Tawakalt ala Allah" ("I put my trust in God") while plunging the aircraft into the ocean. Interestingly, it was this very same prayer that the six Imams from Minnesota chanted while aboard a US Air Flight on November 20, 2006 before being asked to leave the aircraft prior to departure.
On January 5, 2002, 15-year-old Charles BISHOP stole a small, single engine plane and crashed it into the side of the Bank of America building in Tampa, Florida. A suicide noe was found in his pocket that stated:
"I have prepared this statement in regards to the acts I am about to commit. First of all, Osama bin Laden is absolutely justified in the terror he has caused on 9/11. He has brought a mighty nation to its knees! God blesses him and the others who helped make September 11th happen. The U.S. will have to face the consequences for its horrific actions against the Palestinian people and Iraqis by its allegiance with the monstrous Israelis who want nothing short of world domination! You will pay -God help you-and I will make you pay! There will be more coming! Al Qaeda and other organizations have met with me several times to discuss the option of me joining. I didn't. This is an operation done by me only. I had no other help, although, I am acting on their behalf. Osama bin Laden is planning on blowing up the Super Bowl with an antiquated nuclear bomb left over from the 1967 Israeli-Syrian war."
On July 4, 2002, a Muslim identified as Hesham Mohamed Ali HADAYET, an Egyptian limousine driver who immigrated to US 1992, opened fire at an El Al ticket counter at the Los Angeles International Airport, killing two people before being shot and killed by a security guard. The FBI reported, at least initially, that the shooting was not terrorist related or religiously motivated. They later reclassified the act as “terrorist related” when HADAYET’s ties to al Qaeda were exposed.
In October 2002, the entire population of the greater Washington, DC area was terrorized by "random" shootings that claimed the lives of 10 people in 18 separate shooting events. Dubbed by the media as "the beltway snipers," police, federal officials and the media blatantly ignored the fact that John MUHAMMAD and Lee MALVO were Muslim converts, despite finding drawings of Osama bin Laden among MALVO’s belongings, and his verbal rants about "jihad." Investigation has documented that John MUHAMMAD and MALVO received assistance from the terrorist organization Jamaat ul-Fuqra, led by Pakistani terrorist Sheikh SyeSyed Mubarik Ali Gilani.
On October 1, 2005, Joel Henry HINRICHS III, a college student at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK detonated a large bomb made of TATP outside of a packed football stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. The bomb was so large that it could be heard up to four miles away and shattered windows in a nearby building. Despite police and media reports to the contrary, evidence suggests that this was a failed "homicide bombing."
On December 18, 2005, in a carefully planned attack, Ali R. Warrayat, 24 crashed his car into the Home Depot in Chandler, Arizona where he once worked. Warrayat, a student at Arizona State University in Mesa, blasted his car stereo with Arabic music “to drown out the yells of employees he might ‘encounter,’” had a Palestinian flag and a Qu’ran in his car, and aimed for and successfully struck the store’s flammable paint section after driving through other parts of the store. Once there, he jumped from his SUV, ignited a fire with his lighter, and proceeded to the exit, swiping merchandise from store shelves as he walked toward the door. Once outside, Warrayat sat on the curb and waited for police to arrive. Among other things, Warrayat said that he was mad at the United States for proposing a 700-mile fence along the Mexican border and wanted to make the country "more free." Damage to the store was estimated at $1 million.
Additional: Police seized a computer at the house he shares with his parents, finding a number of pictures of Palestinian men and other Middle Eastern terrorists engaged in different levels of violence, and Arabic martyr prayers, flags and symbols.
On March 3, 2006 a Muslim identified as Mohammed Reza Taheriazar, 23 and native of Iran, rented a Jeep SUV – the largest SUV he could find - with the stated intent to kill as many pedestrians as he could to avenge the treatment of Muslims around the world by the U.S. He injured six before being stopped and taken into custody. On July 28, 2006, a Muslim identified as Naveed Afzal HAQ, 30, shouted "I Hate Israel" as he shot and killed one woman and wounded several others, including a pregnant woman at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, 2031 Third Avenue, Seattle, Washington.
On August 29, 2006, a Muslim from Afghanistan identified as Omeed Aziz POPAL, 29, killed one and injured over a dozen other people when he engaged in a murderous spree, using his vehicle to strike pedestrians in San Francisco. The media failed to report that POPAL was an orthodox Muslim, and that religious motivation could not be ruled out as an impelling force for his murderous rampage.
On December 8, 2006, a Muslim man identified as Derrick SHAREEF, a/k/a Talib Abu Salam Ibn Shareef planned to set off at least four and possibly more hand grenades and improvised explosive devices at the CherryVale Shopping Mall in Rockford, IL. Talib Abu Salam Ibn Shareef was arrested by FBI agents from the Chicago Joint Terrorism Task Force before he could make good on his attacks against non-Muslims on the last Friday before Christmas at the busy shopping mall.
On January 25, 2007, the Northeast Intelligence Network reported on the arrest of Juan Rafael DIAZ, 20, of Kissimmee, Florida. DIAZ threatened to blow up at least one Christian church other locations throughout the Kissimmee area. He left notes on vehicles parked at the Moose Lodge located on North Main Street and on a vehicle parked at the First Christian Church located at 415 North Main Street in Kissimmee. According to police sources, every note left at the various locations referenced al Qaeda along with the threats to detonate explosives at those locations, specifically stating:
"The city of Kissimmee is going to be bombed by al Qaeda, God willing."
Diaz was initially arrested in December 2006 for placing a written note threatening to detonate a bomb at SaveRite, 1532 West Vine Street in Kissimmee. He was out on bond at the time of his most recent arrest. Police have charged DIAZ with threatening to discharge a destructive device and making, possessing and using a destructive device and is now back in the Osceola County Jail.
The above incidents are simply some of the more ridiculously blatant examples of crimes motivated by individuals adherent to the Islamic ideology. The denials, alternative explanations, and excuses presented to the American public are completely inconsistent with reason, logic or common sense, and have become insulting to the American people who are paying attention to the events taking place around them.
The war waged by Islamic fundamentalists is - and has been - on American soil for some time. It is well past time for federal law enforcement officials, politicians, and the media to be honest with themselves, and to the American people.

Blackanthem Military News, BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqi National Police discovered a weapons cache during a search of the Al Baneen mosque in Southeast Rashid March 21.
The operation occurred as a result from tips about anti-Iraqi activities received from civilians in the area. National Police entered the mosque and confiscated the weapons and munitions, while MND-B forces conducted the outer cordon and security.
Discovered on the mosque's premises were: one RPK machinegun, six AK-47 assault rifles, four rocket propelled grenade launchers, two RPG warheads, a spool of copper wire and other assorted bomb-making materials, cell phones, and anti-coalition propaganda.
No MND-B forces entered the mosque at any time during the operation.
Iran student protests : July 1999
In July 1999 Iran suffered its most serious unrest for years, as students staged demonstrations across the country calling for reform and press freedom.On 9 July, police and right-wing vigilantes stormed a Tehran University dormitory which students were occupying.
The move sparked off days of street riots across the country, in which students were beaten and detained by police and hardliners. At least five were reportedly killed.
In this account sent to BBCPersian.com, Mohammad Reza Kasrani, a student at the time, recalls the dormitory attack and its ugly aftermath:

It was Friday evening 9 July when a friend told me about the attack on the students' dormitory in Tehran university, which had happened early in the morning.
The dormitories were left almost completely destroyed
I rushed there. God, it could not be described in any words: walls demolished, cupboards destroyed, students' belongings thrown out through the windows.
Even some students who had been sleeping or doing their morning prayers were thrown out through the windows from the second and the third floors.
A group of vigilantes, who are called "plainclothes", had attacked students who the day before were peacefully demonstrating in protest at the closure of a reformist newspaper by the judiciary.
During the five days after the attack, while the students staged demonstrations, the plainclothes attacked government buildings and set buses on fire, but it was the students who were later blamed for this vandalism.
The "plainclothes" attacked the students by sticks and batons and even fired tear gas.

Koran thrown on the floor : Muslims burn helicopters and cars in a GAS PLANT.
SANAA, Yemen: At least four Yemenis and a French man were injured in clashes Sunday between local and foreign workers at a gas plant in Yemen, prompting government troops to intervene to restore calm, security officials said.The violence began when a French employee at a natural gas liquefaction plant being constructed by Yemen LNG in the coastal city of Balhaf threw a copy of the Koran, Islam's holy book, on the ground, a move that angered Yemeni workers at the plant site, the Yemeni officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
The enraged Yemenis reacted by attacking the French employee and setting fire to a helicopter and a large number of vehicles inside the plant site, the officials said.
Four Yemeni workers and the French man were injured in the melee, the officials added.
The Yemenis also tried to attack expatriate workers in their camp inside the plant site but were pushed back by Yemeni troops who intervened with tanks and armored vehicles to contain the violence and restore calm.
Gunbattle at 'Jihad' Rally Kills 6 at Pakistani High School
PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Police challenged a group of suspected militants Monday at a high school in northwestern Pakistan after hearing that they wanted to "motivate" students for holy war, sparking a gunbattle that left six people dead, police said.Five militants and one police officer were killed in the shooting at the privately run Oxford Public School in Tank, a town about 60 miles from the Afghan border, said Javed Khan, a local police officer. It was unclear whether any students were hurt.
Khan said the militants told the administrators of the boys' school to assemble the students so the militants could address them.
"They wanted to speak with the boys and motivate them for jihad," Khan said by telephone from Tank.
He described the militants as "local Taliban," a term commonly used to describe militants in the tribal belt along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan.
Tank is on the edge of South Waziristan, a stronghold of militants aligned with the Taliban movement fighting in neighboring Afghanistan and of foreign militants linked with Al Qaeda.

CANADA: MODERATE MUSLIMS TO BE 'SLAUGHTERED'

extremists will slaughter them.
That is the threat against moderate Canadian Muslims. Their properties
have been damaged thus far. Now they are threatened with being slain, per
CBC News.
“A moderate Muslim group that called for a separation of religion and
state in a recent documentary has received a pointed death threat. The
Muslim Canadian Congress received the message Tuesday morning. It was left
on the Toronto telephone of secretary general Munir Pervaiz.
“‘I swear on 99 names of Allah, if you don’t cease from your campaign of
smearing Islam . I will slaughter you,’ the unidentified caller said.
Toronto police and its hate-crime unit are investigating.
“The message was addressed to congress president Farzana Hassan and
founder Tarek Fatah, and mentioned Allah’s name three times in a row.”

nations wondered why non-extremists did not speak forthrightly in defense
of sane Muslims. In fact, non-Muslims began to wonder if every Muslim was
in fact an extremist awaiting the final signal to initiate Islam World
Rule.
Now in Canada there is a moderate Muslim voice. However, will it continue
to speak? Only time will tell.
“‘It is scary,’ Pervaiz told CBC News on Wednesday. ‘This is the first
time that someone is really swearing in the name of God and it appears
that person is taking an oath by announcing the name of God three times.
“Pervaiz said the accusation of smearing Islam is a serious one, an
offence that some Muslims believe is worthy of punishment.
“The death threat comes after the Muslim Canadian Congress took part in a
documentary that aired on CBC News on March 6. The piece examined the
divides between secular and fundamental beliefs within the Canadian Muslim
community.”
Throughout Europe, non-Muslims daily questioned why Muslim immigrants who
were not murdering and maiming did not inform the reasonable world that
they too exist. Now it is becoming increasingly clear that those not
participating in the global carnage are frightened. Therefore, they say
nothing to castigate zealot Muslims. It could mean their very own
existences.
“The congress has been targeted for its moderate beliefs before, but never
in such a direct fashion, Pervaiz said. Members have had their homes and
cars damaged after sharing their opinions publicly.
“‘We want as many people to know that such a problem exists in Canada,’
Pervaiz said. ‘People thought we were exaggerating, but this now kind of
confirms and proves the problem exists.’”

Mainstreaming the Muslim Brotherhood

The victory of Democrats in the recent elections has launched a silly season in Washington DC, where absurd ideas that would have been scoffed at this time last year now float on the Potomac breeze like so many cherry blossoms filling the Beltway air with their fragrance.
No better example could be offered for this phenomenon than the recent flurry of articles from foreign policy “realists” urging the Bush Administration to shift its policy and begin to dialogue with the Muslim Brotherhood, which is headquartered in Egypt but has affiliates in more than 70 countries, including the US. This position is best represented in an article in the current issue (March/April 2007) of Foreign Affairs by Robert Leiken and Stephen Brooke of the Nixon Center, “The Moderate Muslim Brotherhood”. They summarize their argument thus:
Even as Western commentators condemn the Muslim Brotherhood for its Islamism, radicals in the Middle East condemn it for rejecting jihad and embracing democracy. Such relative moderation offers Washington a notable opportunity for engagement -- as long as policymakers recognize the considerable variation between the group's different branches and tendencies.
