Deadly Bombs End Bangkok's New Year's Celebration

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Nine bombs exploded across Bangkok as the Thai capital celebrated the New Year, killing two people and driving thousands of revelers home after the city was forced to cancel festivities.
Hospital staff and officials said 34 people were injured, at least six of them foreigners including one American.
There were two waves of bombings. Six nearly simultaneous explosions late Sunday night killed at least two people and injured 26. Some initially mistook the sound of the bombs for fireworks.
Bangkok Mayor Apirak Kosayothin canceled major public celebrations and sent home about 5,000 gathered in Central World Plaza, the downtown venue for Bangkok's main New Year countdown party.

If one American life is lost due to Hussein’s deserved hanging, Americans throughout the nation should be exceptionally outraged.

If extremist Muslims want to kill one another daily, let alone in maximum when the former despot is put to death, let it happen. But don’t let one human being from the United States lose a life over it.

Extremist Muslims in Iraq as well as throughout the Middle East delight in slaying one another.

They not only have committed themselves to slaughtering all non-Muslims but also laying low those of their own kind. It is barbarism at its most blatant bloody best. Nevertheless, such is the case for those intent on following Allah’s Koran murdering and maiming verses to the letter.
In the process, American service personnel should not be caught in the fight-out. There is no moral reason for that. There is no logical underpinning for that.

Therefore, it should not happen. If Iraq turns into a blood bowl in the next several days due to Hussein being snuffed out, let them at it. They know it best.

They write it into their history. Fanatic, extremist Muslims who grow up to believe blood in hand is worth it all will go on with their creedal tenets, no matter what the civilized world thinks.

When Operation Iraqi Freedom began, the naïve Western leaders thought Muslims belonged to a monotheistic religion that was benign. Western politicians had no clue as to the blood passages in the Koran used by extremist Muslims.

Now one good thing that has come out of the senseless war is that the knowledgeable world knows Islam to be haunting at best. At worst it is used by extremists to threaten Islam World Rule. It is employed to teach children how to kill themselves in the name of Allah. Boys and girls are instructed by extremists in how to behead a non-Muslim. There are extremist teachers in killing schools who instruct youngsters in torturing those who want nothing to do with being a devotee to Allah.

Extremist Muslims have on their TV sets so-called children’s weekly programs depicting beheading, torture of infidels and wiping out “Jew pigs,” as they are referred to by extremists. These youth mature into believing that the world is at its finest when blood runs through the streets. They are taught hate, madness and meanness in the name of “religion.”

Therefore, when these youth gangs set loose in Iraqi streets with bombs and swords, it is a lifestyle taught from the womb. Consequently, what can be expected when Hussein is hung? It is simply another chance for the extremist Muslim teens and young adults, both male and female, to slice themselves to shreds as well as eliminate entire neighborhoods.

But not one American life should be lost in trying to quell this insanity. Not one.

Not one peace country uniformed youth should lose his or her life over the next several days just because extremist Muslims use the noose as their excuse to increase bloody mayhem.

Peace country militia should exit Iraq as soon as possible, like last year. When they do, Iraq will turn into a major blood bowl. And it will stay that way for a long, long time, just as it is throughout the Middle East.

And if that is the fact, then that is sad. But peace countries must no longer lose their lives in the hellish mess. Peace country persons gave themselves as Good Samaritans to set loose Muslims from Hussein’s dictatorship, believing the Iraqis to be appreciative to the last person within the borders.

But appreciation is truly the last letter written by the Iraqi majority. Thanklessness is more in vogue.
Then those led by naïve Western politicians should be pulled back to their civilized nations where their families wait for them. The madness of extremist Muslims can then be permitted to do what they hanker for — kill and torture.

Slaughtering will never end as long as street gangs rule in place of Bush, Blair, Rice, and a Western-styled Parliament in Baghdad.
Street gangs, even when they wear executive suits in governmental power, will always rule Muslim nations for it takes no brains to blow up a street. With that, street gangs will do what they dream most — blood spurt fountains throughout a nation torn by its own insane base.

I’M SO TIRED OF IRAQ

If, as President Bush states, there are in fact “reformist Muslims,” that is, those who put down the Koran’s killing and maiming passages for civility, then I feel sorry for them if they live in Iraq.

It appears to be true. I suppose there have to be some Muslims who are not killer Muslims, given the statistics when gauging a sociological study. Then if that is in fact reality in Iraq, I do feel so sad for those “reformist Muslims” who shed their
Islamic fanaticism for sanity. They surely have a rough time of it in a nation sliced apart by extremist Muslims.

I also feel so sorry for any Christians left in Iraq. Christians have been persecuted beyond degree there so that most have fled. One pastor stated to media that all his staff has been slain by extremist Muslims. That bottom line could be repeated too many times.

Now with that sorrow expressed, I really am tired of Iraq. I am weary. I suppose the better term is “weary.”

I am weary of the thanklessness that free nations have been handed for all the liberty blood spilled in Iraq. It was the dream of naive free persons that Iraq, once liberated from a human shredding machine Saddam Hussein, would leap for personal freedoms’ chance. But they did not. Really, they did not.

Then anything but a democracy plant has taken place in Iraq. None will ever take place.

Why? Because no Western-styled parliament will rule. Street thugs given to Allah’s Koran killing passages will rule. They have the upper hand. They destroy whole blocks of houses while free nation leaders fly around the planet like fools in an attempt to diplomatically set up a liberty base in Iraq.

Street thugs don’t give a flip about liberty bases in Iraq. They have been tutored since the womb to hate non-Muslims, slay infidels and give themselves to suicide for Allah’s Islam World Rule. Therefore, the invisible Allah rules their minds, not parliaments or national laws or reason.

Therefore, I am growing so desperately weary of Iraq that I want to throw it away — far away — far, far away. I want it to go away.
If the street thugs are going to rule Iraq, then give it to them and let the rest of us enjoy the civility we have crafted in toil and creative energy. We have not come upon our republics by chance. We have worked long and hard, following the heritage of those before us.

Therefore, the last burden we need to carry now is a useless street-thug ruled Iraq. It’s not worth it. It’s not worth it because the bloody mayhem will never cease.

Never.

Even though Mr. Bush thinks otherwise, he’s wrong. He’s so dreadfully wrong that it is sick.
And that’s why I’m even wearier of Iraq.

My own country’s leadership does not have the wisdom by which to pull our troops out, give the country over to the ever-winning street thugs and leave the geography to what it is going to endure till the end of time — brutality, cruelty, and extremist Muslims killing their own. They’ve done it for years.

There is no reason for them to stop now — not for Bush, not for Blair, not for Rice, not for the Pope, not for logic.

All of these beckonings are totally foreign to street thugs who relish heads rolling down the streets.

So with that fact facing me, why should I not be terribly weary of Iraq?

Thailand: Two Buddhist teachers killed in south

Suspected Islamic militants shot the victims and burned their bodies -- violence continues in the former independent Islamic sultanate

Suspected Islamic militants this morning shot dead two Buddhist teachers and then set their bodies ablaze near the school where they used to teach in southern Thailand, local police said.

The charred remains of the bodies were found 100 metres from the school entrance, near the pickup truck they were driving when the militants attacked.
One of the victims, Chamnong Koopathanaphong, was the principal of the school in Yala province and the second man Manoo Sornkaew, was a teacher at the school. Police said they believed the two were dead before their bodies were set on fire.

The southern region of the country is a battleground of bloody clashes between the Muslim and Buddhist communities. The region, which borders Malaysia, was an independent sultanate until it was annexed by Thailand in 1902. Now a group of Muslim militants is seeking independence once again from Bangkok through violent means. Since January 2004, clashes have already claimed 1,700 victims.
Thailand's new military-installed government, which came to power following a pacific coup in September, has made a number of offers to leaders of the insurrection in a bid to make peace in the region, but so far they have been turned down.

Saddam Hussein hanged, says Al Hurra TV station

U.S.-backed Iraqi television station Al Hurra said Saddam Hussein had been executed by hanging shortly before 6 a.m. (0300 GMT) on Saturday.

Arabic satellite channel Arabiya also reported the execution had taken place.

The former Iraqi president ousted in April 2003 by a U.S.-led invasion was convicted in November of crimes against humanity over the killings of 148 Shi'ite villagers from Dujail after a failed assassination bid in 1982.

An appeals court upheld the death penalty on Tuesday and the government rushed through the procedures to hang him by the end of the year and before the Eid al-Adha holiday that starts on Saturday, coinciding with the haj pilgrimage to Mecca.

The government had kept details of its plans shrouded in secrecy amid concerns it could spark a violent backlash from his former supporters with Iraq on the brink of civil war.

Saddam Hussein's impending execution gathered Friday in Baghdad's fortified Green Zone in final preparation for his hanging, as state television broadcast footage of his regime's atrocities.


With U.S. forces on high alert for a surge in violence, the Iraqi government readied all the necessary documents, including a "red card" — an execution order introduced during Saddam's dictatorship. As the hour of his death approached,

Saddam received two of his half brothers in his cell on Thursday and was said to have given them his personal belongings and a copy of his will.
Najeeb al-Nueimi, a member of Saddam's legal team in Doha, Qatar, said he too requested a final meeting with the deposed Iraqi leader. "His daughter in Amman was crying, she said 'Take me with you,'" al-Nueimi said late Friday. But he said their request was rejected.

An adviser to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Saddam would be executed before 6 a.m. Saturday, or 10 p.m. Friday EST. Also to be hanged at that time were Saddam's half-brother Barzan Ibrahim and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, the former chief justice of the Revolutionary Court, the adviser said.

The time was agreed upon during a meeting Friday between U.S. and Iraqi officials, said the adviser, who declined to be named because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

"Saddam will be handed over shortly before the execution," the official said. The physical transfer of Saddam from U.S. to Iraqi authorities was believed to be one of the last steps before he was to be hanged. Saddam has been in U.S. custody since he was captured in December 2003.

Al-Nueimi said U.S. authorities were maintaining physical custody of Saddam to prevent him from being humiliated before his execution. He said the Americans also want to prevent the mutilation of his corpse, as has happened to other deposed Iraqi leaders.

"The Americans want him to be hanged respectfully," al-Nueimi said. If Saddam is humiliated publicly or his corpse ill-treated "that could cause an uprising and the Americans would be blamed," he said.
Munir Haddad, a judge on the appeals court that upheld Saddam's death sentence, said he was ready to attend the hanging and that all the paperwork was in order, including the red card.

"All the measures have been done," Haddad said. "There is no reason for delays."
As American and Iraqi officials met in Baghdad to set the hour of his death, Saddam's lawyers asked a U.S. judge for a stay of execution.

Saddam's lawyers issued a statement Friday calling on "everybody to do everything to stop this unfair execution." The statement also said the former president had been transferred from U.S. custody, though American and Iraqi officials later denied that.

Al-Maliki said opposing Saddam's execution was an insult to his victims. His office said he made the remarks in a meeting with families of people who died during Saddam's rule.

"Our respect for human rights requires us to execute him, and there will be no review or delay in carrying out the sentence," al-Maliki said.
State television ran footage of the Saddam era's atrocities, including images of uniformed men placing a bomb next to a youth's chest and blowing him up in what looked like a desert, and handcuffed men being thrown from a high building.

About 10 people registered to attend the hanging gathered in the Green Zone before they were to go to the execution site, the Iraqi official said.
Those cleared to attend the execution included a Muslim cleric, lawmakers, senior officials and relatives of victims of Saddam's brutal rule, the official said. He did not disclose the location of the gallows.

Raed Juhi, spokesman for the High Tribunal court that convicted Saddam, said documents related to the execution would be read to Saddam before the execution. The documents included the red card, al-Maliki's signed approval of the sentence and the appeal court's decision.

On Thursday, two half brothers visited Saddam in his cell, a member of the former dictator's defense team, Badee Izzat Aref, told The Associated Press by telephone from the United Arab Emirates. He said the former dictator handed them his personal belongings.

A senior official at the Iraqi defense ministry also confirmed the meeting and said Saddam gave his will to one of his half brothers. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Saddam's lawyers later issued a statement saying the Americans gave permission for his belongings to be retrieved.

An Iraqi appeals court upheld Saddam's death sentence Tuesday for the killing of 148 people who were detained after an attempt to assassinate him in the northern Iraqi city of Dujail in 1982. The court said the hanging should take place within 30 days.

There had been disagreements among Iraqi officials in recent days as to whether Iraqi law dictates the execution must take place within 30 days and whether President Jalal Talabani and his two deputies had to approve it.
In his Friday sermon, a mosque preacher in the Shiite holy city of Najaf called Saddam's execution "God's gift to Iraqis."

"Oh, God, you know what Saddam has done! He killed millions of Iraqis in prisons, in wars with neighboring countries and he is responsible for mass graves," said Sheik Sadralddin al-Qubanji, a member of the Supreme Council for
the Islamic Revolution in Iraq
known as SCIRI, a dominant party in al-Maliki's coalition. "Oh God, we ask you to take revenge on Saddam."

Death sentence explained by Bali court

Bali Nine drug mule Scott Rush was given the death sentence because narcotics are a danger to society and kill people, the Indonesian Supreme Court said on Thursday.

The court on Thursday gave its reasons for upgrading the 21-year-old Brisbane heroin smuggler's sentence from life to the death penalty.
Indonesia's highest court on August 31 ordered Rush be executed after he appealed against his original life term.

The Supreme Court's 55 page dossier says the panel of three judges had granted Rush's wish to change his sentence, but instead of freeing him or granting him a lesser term they decided he should face the firing squad.

"Judging solely that the defendant Scott Anthony Rush is proven legitimately and convincingly guilty of committing an organised crime without any right, exporting narcotics and ... sentence him to death", the dossier said.

Passengers and crew foil would-be Russian hijacker

PRAGUE (Reuters) - Crew members and passengers overpowered a Russian man who tried to hijack an Aeroflot plane on Thursday and the aircraft safely made an emergency landing in Prague, airline officials said.

"One of the passengers on board the Moscow-Geneva flight said he had an explosive device and ordered (the crew) to change course," Lev Koshlyakov, deputy general director of the Russian airline, told Reuters.
"There are reasons to believe that this was an act of hooliganism," he added.

The Airbus A-320, on a charter flight from Moscow to Geneva, made an unplanned landing in the Czech capital after the pilot declared an emergency while the man tried to force his way into the flight deck.
Passengers and crew members overpowered the man and handed him over to Czech police who were questioning him, officials said.

"A drunk person was on board. He provoked a brawl with passengers, threatened to damage the plane and demanded that it change the course," Itar-Tass news agency quoted Viktor Parkhimovich, an Aeroflot representative in Prague, as saying.

Vladislav Husak, the head of the Czech police force, told reporters there was a suspicion the man was drunk but added police were waiting for results of medical tests. Continued...

Of the rest of my congregation, most say they have been targeted in some way or have had letters delivered with bullets in them. People forget, or the Islamic groups don’t realize, that Christianity was in the Middle East before them and therefore they see Christians as being part of the Western coalition military presence. Things have got considerably worse since the Iraq war.’”

Canon Andrew White, president of the Foundation for Reconciliation in the Middle East, was speaking to The Times about increased tension against Christians during the Iraq war. Many Christians have fled Iraq. Few remain to keep the Christ candle lit but they live daily in fear for their existences, per Stephen Farrell and Rana Gargour of Times On Line.

Christians throughout the Middle East have paid with their lives. If their bodies were not slain, they now breathe by looking over their shoulders.

“Egyptian Copts, Iraqi Chaldeans and the Palestinian Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Protestant communities have faced violence and even death at the hands of their Muslim neighbors.”

The Koran stipulates that all Muslims must eliminate the Earth of non-Muslims, that includes Christians of course. Therefore, militant Muslims take these killing and maiming verses literally. “Tensions have also increased elsewhere. In Syria one Christian Assyrian said that he was planning to emigrate to Canada because of growing Islamic fundamentalism in a society having to absorb huge numbers of Iraqi refugees. ‘I do not feel at ease any longer and I do not want my two sons to live in this polarized society and atmosphere,’ he said.

No doubt this is the least covered atrocity story covered by the secular press. In other words, some reporters consider Christian happenings as “just another Christian story.” Christians are to endure, though persecuted. Their being slaughtered does not mean anything new. However, with every believer slain another eternal soul is entranced into heaven, welcomed by Redeemer Christ, the latter reality not noted by a secular media.

“In Gaza, Christians saw neighbors’ anger mount at the US-led occupation of Iraq. Matters were made worse by the publication of cartoons of Muhammad and by a speech from Benedict XVI that described Islam as a religion of violence.
“Hanna Massad, the pastor of Gaza Baptist Church, said that the conflicts highlighted a difficult issue of identity for Christian Arabs. ‘The issue is who we are. Are we first Christians or are we Palestinians?’ he said.

“’For me my priority is my faith. I am a Christian first but I am also a Palestinian, I am Arab. Of course as a Christian Palestinian Arab we suffer with the [Israeli] occupation but at the same time I cannot, because of my personal faith, use violence.’”

It is interesting that while many within the mainline Protestant denominations have gone apostate with teachings that are against biblical morality, in other parts of the world Christians are dying for that very biblical ethic. While portions of the Protestant segments abandon their allegiance to Christ as God, others elsewhere are laying down their bodies for execution in the name of “Christian.”

Shame on those in free nations who proclaim the Christian pulpit while desecrating it with apostate teachings that offend the heart of God.

Shame on those clergy and laity who foster devilment in the name of the Christian church while actually genuine Christians are giving up their mortal existences in order to further the gospel tidings of salvation through Christ Jesus alone.

Congress' first Muslim lawmaker tells U.S. Muslims to stand up for justice

DEARBORN, Michigan: The first Muslim elected to Congress returned to his home state and told fellow Muslims to observe their faith and work for justice.

"You can't back down, you can't chicken out, you can't be afraid, you got to have faith in Allah, and you got to stand up and be a real Muslim," Keith Ellison said Sunday night in this Detroit suburb, which is the center of Michigan's Arab American community.

He spoke at a convention of the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America, attended by about 3,000 people.

Born in Detroit, Ellison converted to Islam while in college. He ran successfully as a Democratic candidate for a Minnesota U.S. House seat.

U.S. Rep. Virgil Goode, a Virginia Republican, drew widespread criticism when he challenged Ellison's intention to take the oath of office on the Quran, rather than the Bible. Goode said more Muslims would be elected to office unless immigration was limited.

Muslims can expect more attacks in the future, Ellison said.
"We're going to continue to face them," he was quoted as saying by the Detroit Free Press on Monday. "They're not going to stop right away. But if you, and me too, stick together, if we believe in Allah ... if we turn to the Quran for guidance, we'll find an answer to the questions we have. And we will find that we are an asset and a plus not only to our own community, but to this country, and to this whole world."
Ellison said that Muslims can help the nation learn about justice and equal protection.

"Muslims, you're up to bat right now," he said. "How do you know that you were not brought right here to this place to learn how to make this world better? How do you know that Allah ... did not bring you here so that you could understand how to teach people what tolerance was, what justice was?

"How do you know that you're not here to teach this country?"

Israel agrees to remove some West Bank roadblocks

JERUSALEM, Dec 25 (Reuters) - Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's cabinet on Monday approved the removal of 27 Israeli roadblocks in the occupied West Bank, a move officials said was meant to bolster Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Israel has been under U.S. and European pressure to take steps that could help strengthen Abbas of Fatah after he called early elections against his Hamas rivals.
Israel says its checkpoints and unmanned roadblocks -- usually piles of rubble on roads linking towns or villages in the West Bank -- are meant to prevent militants from launching attacks, while Palestinians call them collective punishment.

In addition to the roadblock decision, Olmert's cabinet could authorise the release of some Palestinian prisoners later this week, officials said.
An Israeli source said removal of the 27 roadblocks would allow goods to be transported more freely in the West Bank, which has hundreds of roadblocks and checkpoints in all.

Israeli officials said removing the roadblocks would take time and they did not provide a start date.

"The removal ... is a step in the direction of ending all internal closures in order to ensure the free movement of goods and people in the West Bank and East Jerusalem," senior Abbas aide Saeb Erekat said.
He estimated the number of roadblocks and checkpoints in the West Bank at 400.
Olmert's cabinet also agreed on Monday to make improvements at the Karni commercial crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip in order to speed the flow of goods.

The Israeli source said travel restrictions on senior Palestinian officials and medical crews would also be eased.

Israel beefed up checkpoints in the occupied West Bank after a Palestinian uprising erupted in 2000 and put additional restrictions on movement after Hamas, whose charter calls for the Jewish state's destruction, took office in March.

"We reached the conclusion that we must certainly begin relieving (pressure) at the checkpoints, especially in areas that do not pose a threat -- to ease movement a little inside the villages and between the villages," Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz said earlier.

During Olmert's first formal meeting with Abbas on Saturday, the Israeli leader agreed to transfer $100 million in withheld tax revenues to Abbas, bypassing the Hamas-led government.

Even though Gaza militants have yet to free a captured Israeli soldier, Olmert suggested on Sunday that Israel could release some Palestinian prisoners before a Muslim holiday that starts later this week.

Medicine and Islam

Question :As-Salamu `Alaykum. Does Islam encourage or permit the drinking of camel urine?

Answer: Wa`alaykum As-Salaamu Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

According to a Hadith that is narrated in Al-Bukhari the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told Muslims to go out behind camels and drink their urine in treatment of illness. Accordingly, Islam permits Muslims to drink camels' urine and milk in treatment.

Apparently, treatment should be based on doctors' advice. If a reliable and trustworthy doctor prescribes urine of camels in treatment of a certain disease, then there is nothing wrong in drinking it.

Hence, drinking camel’s urine is permitted in case of necessary medical treatment. If there is another lawful alternative available, then people may use it instead. Allah Almighty knows best.

The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. When the news reached the Prophet he sent some people in their pursuit. When they were brought, he cut their hands and feet and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron.

Knowing Your Enemy

The Muslim is required to be aware, and learn about the plots and tricks of his enemy. Allah (subhaanahu wa-ta'aalaa) says in the Qur'aan:

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا إِنَّمَا يَدْعُو حِزْبَهُ لِيَكُونُوا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

Surely, Shaytaan [Satan] is an enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his hizb [followers] that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire. (EMQ Faatir, 35:6) This verse clearly informs us of who our enemy is: Shaytaan (the devil). Allah (SWT) strictly orders us to treat our enemy as our enemy – not as a friend or ally.

Consequently, it is not allowed for a believer (Muslims*) to have any sympathy, love, affection, compassion or respect for his enemy.


Allah (SWT) says:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَتَّخِذُوا عَدُوِّي وَعَدُوَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ تُلْقُونَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِالْمَوَدَّةِ

O you who believe! Take not my enemies [the disbelievers] and your enemies as awliyaa' [friends, allies, supporters, assistants etc.], showing affection towards them… (EMQ al-Mumtahanah, 60:1)

As indicated in the above verse: Allah's enemies are our enemies.

Thus, a believer (Muslim*) is only allowed to love those whom Allah (SWT) loves, and hate those whom Allah (SWT) hates.

For example, if Allah (SWT) curses a particular nation or people, it is not allowed for a believer to imitate or ally with them (such as by joining their police or spying on their behalf).

Moreover, Shaytaan (the enemy of Allah) can take two different forms. He can either be in the form of a jinn, or in the form of a human (EMQ 114:6). When the Shaytaan is in his jinni form it is very difficult for a person to combat him, unless of course he is a true believer and a Muwahhid (monotheist).

However, when he is in his human shape (i.e. in the form of a Kaafir) it is much easier to recognise him and defend himself from the attacks of Shaytaan.

Allah (SWT) says:

إِنَّ الْكَافِرِينَ كَانُوا لَكُمْ عَدُوًّا مُبِينًا …

Verily, the Kaafireen [disbelievers] are ever unto you your open enemies. (EMQ an-Nisaa', 4:101)

Based upon the above verse, taking the disbelievers as one's enemies is a condition of being a Muslim.


This is because they are utterly despised by Almighty Allah (SWT) and hence, we must despise them too –

even if it is illegal to do so. Allah (SWT) says:

فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ …

Verily, Allah does not like [love] the disbelievers. (EMQ Aali 'Imraan, 3:32)

If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path.




In this last Surah it mentions of Muslims and Mohammed being driven out of their homes and lands, etc. I will try too explain this. If Islam is allowed to spread all will be fine. Only when people reject Islam and openly do so, Muslims must make a decision that the kafir have been invited too Islam enough, and then Jihad must be waged to further expand Islam. Muslims always claim the "self defense" tactic, when it is primarily the Non-Muslims that are waging in self defense against the violent expansion of Islam.

An anti-Israel article , which appeared last week in a British newspaper, the Independent, claimed Christmas was a celebration of the "birth pains of a Palestinian refugee in Bethlehem" (Mary), before launching into an attack on Israel 's checkpoints in the West Bank.

According to the article, written by British columnist Johann Hari, during Christmas "a third of humanity will gather to celebrate the birth pains of a Palestinian refugee in Bethlehem - but two millennia later, another mother in another glorified stable in this rubble-strewn, locked-down town is trying not to howl."

It added: "Fadia Jemal is a gap-toothed 27-year-old with a weary, watery smile. 'What would happen if the Virgin Mary came to Bethlehem today? She would endure what I have endured,' she says."

Islamic Group Has Mastered Victimization Game, Critic Says

The Republican lawmaker who sparked a storm with comments about Muslims and the need to tighten immigration laws is the latest target of an Islamic advocacy group's "victimization game," a political analyst said Thursday.

It's a game that the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), has "mastered," Daniel Pipes, a critic of the group and director of the Middle East Forum, told Cybercast News Service.

CAIR is calling on Rep. Virgil Goode (R-Va.) to apologize for writing in a letter to constituents that says, "we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt" strict immigration policies.

Pipes said CAIR was "perpetually on the prowl for any incidence of anti-Muslim sentiment, real or imaginary, spontaneous or provoked, major or minor."

The organization's goal, he said, was "to make the United States like so many other countries - a place where Muslims, Islam and Islamism cannot be freely discussed."

"It is imperative for Americans to retain their freedom of speech about Islam -- as it exists in relation to other religions -- and resist these many demands for remorse."

Indonesian cleric Bashir says ruling a 'blow' to West

JAKARTA (Reuters) - Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir said on Friday that a court ruling clearing him of any part in the 2002 Bali bombings was a blow to the West and served as a warning that Western attempts to subjugate Indonesia would fail.

Indonesia's Supreme Court on Thursday overturned Bashir's conviction for conspiracy in the bombings on the resort island, which killed 202, most of them foreign tourists. Australia, which lost 88 nationals in the attack, reacted angrily to the ruling.

"This is evidence that even though all this time the West think that they can subjugate Indonesia, there are still some Muslims and Indonesians who have the courage to convey the truth," Bashir told Elshinta radio in a telephone interview.
Bashir, 68, was released in June after completing 26 months of a 30-month jail sentence for being part of a conspiracy behind the nightclub bombings.

"I hope the West will open their eyes and if they remain adamant, there will be heavier blows. This is a blow and warning for the West," he said.

It's a well-established tradition for Americans at home to deliver Christmas cheer to U.S. soldiers stationed around the world, but it turns out that prisoners held in the War on Terror are getting good tidings of their own, too.

The 400 or so detainees at Joint Task Force detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, have received approximately 500 holiday greeting cards, said Army Col. Lora Tucker, a spokeswoman for the prison.

She said she did not know the faith content of the cards sent to the mainly Muslim detention population, because "Once it goes to the detainee, it's the detainee's mail."

She said the guard force at Gitmo has no interest in the content of the mail after it is screened for operations and security purposes.

"The first is that you aren't the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen -- the Muslim Ummah's vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq -- are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost," Zawahri said, according to a full transcript obtained by ABC News.

Zawahri calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.

"And if you don't refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate," he said.

Goode stands by anti-Islam letter

U.S. Rep. Virgil H. Goode Jr. will not apologize to upset Islamic groups for a letter he wrote that decries the migration of Muslims to America, his press aide said today.

"He stands by the letter," said Linwood Duncan, aide to the 5th District Republican.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations demanded an apology for the letter, which Goode, of Rocky Mount, sent to hundreds of constituents and which the council labeled Islamophobic.

"We need to stop illegal immigration totally and reduce legal immigration and end the diversity visas policy pushed hard by President Clinton and allowing many persons from the Middle East to come to this country,"

Goode wrote. "I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped."

Corey Saylor, national legislative director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, condemned the letter. "Representative Goode's Islamophobic remarks send a message of intolerance that is unworthy of anyone elected to public office," Saylor said. "There can be no reasonable defense for such bigotry."

Duncan said Goode wrote the letter earlier this month in response to hundreds of e-mails he had received from constituents concerned about Muslim Rep.-elect Keith Ellison's decision to use the Koran in his swearing-in ceremony. After one of the letters miscarried, its contents have been plastered online across the blogosphere.

"I do not subscribe to using the Koran in any way," Goode wrote in the letter's opening paragraph. "The Muslim Representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens

don't wake up

and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office

and demanding the use of the Koran."

JAKARTA, Indonesia - Indonesia overturned a terror conviction Thursday against the militant Islamic cleric Abu Bakar Bashir, who served 2 1/2 years for conspiracy in the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings that killed more than 200 people.


Australian Prime Minister John Howard said he was upset for the families of the 88 Australian victims but was powerless to help. Australia, along with the United States, publicly accused the aging cleric of being a top leader of Jemaah Islamiyah, an al-Qaida-linked Southeast Asian terror group.

"Of course it is the court system of another country and we can't change that," Howard told the Nine Network television. "But it doesn't stop us feeling upset, and I know there will be a feeling of anger on the part on the parents and loved ones, and I am feeling for them this morning very much."
